The island’s name was officially declared to be “Lanta” about one hundred years ago, during the reign of King Rama the Fifth. The first governor’s office, built in classic Thai style, is a two-storey wooden house in Old Town Lanta today as the beautiful Lanta Community Museum with free admission. The two main islands are Koh Lanta Yai and Koh Lanta Noi, connected by a bridge. Pimalai enjoys a private speed boat and van for their guests to travel from and to the Krabi mainland. You can visit the vibrant night market, explore the Wat Tham Sua (Tiger Cave Temple) and wander through the riverside streets to experience the authentic charm of Krabi. Wat Tham Sua is famous for its tiger paw prints and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
