This property enjoys a blissful location in Koh Lanta in the southern part of Krabi Province. Koh Lanta’s archipelago is comprised of fifty-two islands, some of which are tiny and uninhabited. The Pimalai Resort is nestled on the fine sandy coastline of Koh Lanta Yai. The island’s name was officially declared to be “Lanta” about one hundred years ago, during the reign of King Rama the Fifth. The first governor’s office, built in classic Thai style, is a two-storey wooden house still standing in Old Town Lanta today as the wonderful Lanta Community Museum with free admission. The two main islands are Koh Lanta Yai and Koh Lanta Noi, which are connected to each other by a bridge. Pimalai enjoys a private speed boat and van exclusively for their guests to travel from and to the Krabi mainland. Koh Lanta’s history stems from traders who came by boat from China and from the Arab continent, originally using the island as a stopover point.
