Luxury Villas
| 4 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

At Villa d’Argens you could be hiking through the surrounding forests in the morning, enjoying a barbecue by the swimming pool at lunchtime then sipping an apéritif overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Tropez by the evening. Only 2km from La Garde-Freinet village in the Maures hills, this beautiful holiday home allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of the French Riviera yet still be a short distance from the Mediterranean.

That said, it will be hard to tear yourself away from the tranquillity of your landscaped gardens with so many idyllic terraces and peaceful views. Cypresses and an ancient olive tree add even more character to the immaculate swimming pool and the shady pool house is the perfect spot to escape the sun. Breakfast al-fresco on your kitchen terrace, dine by the swimming pool or discover another corner where you can relax with a glass of the Var’s finest Côtes de Provence.

Inside the villa, soak up the ideal ambience of charm and elegance across the inviting lounge with satellite TV, terracotta tiled dining room and wonderful kitchen. All four of the bedrooms feature air-conditioning ranging from the master en suite bedroom with a king-size double to an en suite twin and two further bedrooms that share a bathroom, allowing Villa d’Argens to comfortably sleep up to eight guests.

It is a just a short drive to La Garde-Freinet with its medieval lanes, artisan shops, twice-weekly market and restaurant terraces with amazing vistas. Flower-filled Grimaud is a little further south, another picture-perfect place to explore with its château, gastronomic restaurants and art galleries or continue down to the coast to experience the charm of Port Grimaud, often referred to as the ‘Little Venice of Provence’.

The beaches of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez are glorious from nearby Plage de Grimaud, a 13km drive away, to St Tropez’ iconic Plage de Pampelonne and family-friendly Sainte-Maxime. Find beachside restaurants, exclusive beach clubs, summer watersports and the azure-coloured Mediterranean.

Closer to home, enjoy long walks from your doorstep as well as mountain hikes and biking, or head north towards the Argens River for canoeing, kayaking and more summer adventures. Visit the vineyards near Vidauban, the famous Tuesday morning Provençal market of Lorgues or you could even venture to Aix-en-Provence or Cannes for yet another remarkable day out in this wonderful part of southern France.

In the Maures hills, Villa d’Argens is in the Var department of southern France only a 14km drive from Port Grimaud and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

This is such an idyllic setting with beautiful walks on your doorstep through the Massif des Maures and surrounding forest – this region is a paradise for hikers, nature lovers and mountain bike enthusiasts! La Garde-Freinet, an authentic medieval village, is just a 2km drive away where you will be able to find a grocery store, pretty artisan shops and restaurants with terraces overlooking the glorious landscapes around you. The twice-weekly market takes place on a Wednesday and Sunday morning.

The flower-filled village of Grimaud (7km) is another picture-perfect place to spend time, passing winding roads of chestnut and oak forests. Admire superb French Riviera views from the village’s castle before pottering around the village looking out for art galleries, little shops, gastronomic restaurants and the charming weekly market.

Driving further down to the coast, Port Grimaud (14km) is often referred to as the ‘Little Venice of Provence’ thanks to its waterways, bridges and colourful houses – hop on a boat tour or find a picturesque canalside restaurant to soak up the lovely ambience. The atmospheric marché nocturne (night market) that takes place on Monday evenings in the height of the summer is not to be missed.

Another great highlight of this region is Saint-Tropez, 19km by car or you may prefer to catch a ferry from Port Grimaud. As well as glitzy bars and glamourous boutiques, the former fishing village is also full of historic character across its old town whilst the twice-weekly Provençal market at Place des Lices is a superb way to experience Saint Tropez’ authentic side.

Of course, the exclusive beach clubs await at Saint Tropez’ Plage de Pampelonne (23km) or stay closer to home and enjoy the sandy shores and watersport opportunities around Plage de Grimaud (13km). The ‘Famille Plus’ designated seaside resort of Sainte-Maxime (20km) is a lovely day out, reached through the mountain roads or via the coast passing the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club (15km). Golf-lovers also note that Golf Club Saint-Tropez is under half an hour away by car.

For a change of scene, drive north towards the vineyards around Vidauban (22km), some wonderful canoeing and kayaking opportunities along the Argens River and the very charming town of Lorgues (33km), home to one of the region’s best Provençal markets on a Tuesday morning.

Linking up to La Provençale motorway around 20km away, you could even head east towards Cannes and Antibes or west to Aix-en-Provence, all within a 90-minute drive.
