Rent Villa Sisyphus Greece
Holiday Home Rental Description
Holiday in the clouds when you vacation in Villa Sisyphus, sitting inland on the slope of the highest mountain on the Greek island of Santorini, the largest of the Cycladic islands, set in the azure waters of the Aegean Sea. This small, but oh so perfectly formed villa has one spacious double bedroom, and can comfortably accommodate up to four guests, perfect for a small family, a romantic honeymoon, or a couple of couples’ sharing. The villa is set in its own gorgeous, panoramic, sea view grounds and gardens, with a private infinity swimming pool.
The property comes with all the mod cons, including air conditioning, satellite televisions, and private parking. The one-storey, detached Villa Sisyphus is constructed out of local light stone, with picture postcard sliding doors that let in lots of natural light, which seamlessly connects the indoors with the outdoor living space. The interiors are cool and contemporary, stylishly furnished with modern pieces, adorned with original art, and decorated in a Mediterranean beach house style with lots of natural wood, and a serene colour palette of crisp whites, with shades of sea and sand.
Enter the villa where you will be welcomed by a bright and breezy open-plan living space, with doors that give access to the sea-view pool terrace. The seating area has a built-in double sofa-bed for up to two guests, footstools, and handy coffee tables, arranged facing a faux fireplace and a flat-screen satellite television. There is a fitted kitchenette with a microwave, and those must-haves espresso coffee maker and wine cooler. A dining set for four is perfect for indoor entertaining. The impressive master bedroom boasts an emperor-sized bed, a walk-in closet, a safe, and a smart TV, with access to the pool terrace. The beautiful glass-screen bathroom has a free-standing oval bathtub, a walk-in shower, and a dressing room. There is a second bathroom with a walk-in shower, hand basin, and WC.
The outside living space is just as large and lovely as indoors, with a breathtaking sweeping vista terrace. Enjoy a swim in the heated infinity pool, complete with spa jets. Relax on the deep-cushioned sun loungers sitting on the decking, and look across to see if you can see Crete. Take a seat at the outdoor dining set, where every morning you will be served a complimentary breakfast by the in-villa chef. Sit in the sunshine at the soft seating and plan your holiday with the concierge team, who can arrange almost anything for you, from helicopter and yacht charters to bespoke days to make your stay the most memorable ever.

Villa Sisyphus can be found inland, set in the private grounds of a terraced estate, in the village of Pyrgos Kalistis, in the centre of the Greek island of Santorini, the largest of the Cycladic islands set in the azure waters of the Aegean Sea. Thira International Airport is a scenic nine kilometres from your holiday home. The villa has the privileged position at the highest point of the island, set in the mountainside, with the Profitis Illias Monastery above, and the village of Perissa below.
The narrow winding Cycladic streets of Pyrgos are home to a medieval castle, which you can climb to the top of and admire the views. Visit the eleventh-century church, and sample the local volcanic wines, especially the Assyrtiko.
Enjoy a day at the beach sunbathing, swimming, and snorkelling, or sample the watersports, including scuba diving, and paddleboarding. The nearest sandy shores are a fifteen minute drive to Perissa or Perivolos, with black sand and beachfront restaurants and bars, or ten kilometres south to the must see Red Beach, with its striking crimson cliffs.
Spend the day in Fira, the island’s capital, with museums, a cable car ride over the caldera, cathedrals and churches, boat trips around the island and some fabulous wining and dining. Hike the caldera rim from Fira to Oia, with panoramic views of the island.
See the blue domed church roofs of Oia, eat seafood by the sea shore in Amoudi Bay, visit the Maritime Museum, shop in the art galleries and bijou boutiques, end the day at the castle, sipping cocktails as you watch the sun set over the caldera. Go to Akrotiri, with a well preserved archaeological site, a castle with views of the caldera, and the lighthouse, best seen at sunset.
