Rent Casa Arena Blanca Mexico
Holiday Home Rental Description
Situated in the northernmost stretch of land above the busy city of Cancun, this spectacular oceanfront property offers an idyllic retreat, inviting you to escape off-grid and enjoy the best that Mexico has to offer.
Arranged across three floors, Casa Arena Blanca has been thoughtfully designed with a minimal aesthetic and natural tones inspired by the wabi-sabi movement. Generously proportioned, the rooms are filled with natural light, with timber framed openings giving views out to the ocean. Neat recesses and simple furniture are carved out from the interior walls, whilst fine wood accents and locally crafted decor add a sense of warmth and charm. A traditional ‘chukum’ technique has been used to finish the walls, adding a natural, earthy colour, whilst polished stone floors throughout offer a sense of fluidity between the rooms.
On the lower floor, a central living area offers a space to retreat, with a corner sofa tucked to one end where you can relax with a book whilst enjoying a view out to the sea. On the other side, a beautiful wooden dining table offers a wonderful place to gather for meals, whilst, to the rear of the room, a smartly fitted kitchen features a central island counter and quality appliances. Alternatively, take advantage of the warm weather and make the most of an impressive outdoor grill, sharing entertaining evenings beneath the stars.
A central staircase leads upstairs, where three wonderful bedrooms open onto sea-facing balconies, inviting you to step out of bed each morning and admire the breathtaking view. Immaculately finished, all the rooms enjoy a lovely ensuite bathroom, whilst comfortable furnishings ensure a restful night’s sleep. Sustainability is at the heart of Casa Arena Blanca, and it operates off a state-of-the-art solar power system featuring rainwater filtering and a well that supplies the villa with running water.
The real star of the show is located outside. Guests will love to spend days beside the sea, and from the living room, large openings give access to the garden that spills onto a private beach. Wake up and walk down to the ocean for an early morning swim, or take a dip in the plunge pool that sits in the centre of the terrace. A daybed and several hammocks offer the ideal place for a siesta or spend a relaxing evening in one of the lounge chairs and enjoy a drink whilst watching the light fade beyond the horizon. This is absolute heaven!

Sitting to the north of the Yucatán Peninsula, Casa Arena Blanca offers a disconnected refuge where guests can feel totally off-grid, surrounded by lush jungle and unspoiled beaches, whilst being just a short drive from some of the region’s vibrant towns and unique geographical wonders.
Heading north from the villa, the peninsula extends in a narrow arm where an untouched ribbon of white sand divides the sea from the beautiful Chacmuchuch laguna. A steady wind and shallow waters make the area popular with fly fishermen, whilst kite-boarders can be seen darting across the glistering ocean surface. Enjoy a stroll along the wild beaches or head just a few minutes down the coast, where ScubaCaribe offers a great intro to an underwater experience whilst more seasoned divers can enjoy a guided tour out to the region’s spectacular reef. For those wanting to stay above water, plenty of companies offer boat trips, and you can enjoy a day sailing up the coast whilst looking out for wild dolphins or trying to spot the majestic humpback whales.
A short drive south, a local ferry will transport you to the Isla Mujeres in just 15 minutes, where you can discover the tropical oasis which once served as the sanctuary of the Mayan goddess Ixhel. Previously a fishing village, the area now has a buzzing coastal community, and you can enjoy a day wandering the colourful streets and soaking up the animated Caribbean atmosphere. Just off the island’s shores, an Underwater Museum boasts more than 600 sculptures that were created to facilitate the preservation of the natural coral, and you can take a glass-bottomed boat trip to spot the incredible artworks that lay beneath the surface. The centre of town has several restaurants and bars, perfect for stopping for a bite to eat, and you can sip a cold beer and enjoy a fresh plate of fish whilst soaking up the vibrant setting. Perched on Playa Norte, Coco is the ultimate place to watch the sunset, and you can sit on the upper terrace and enjoy a delicious plate of shrimp skewers or try the island’s traditional Tikin Xic fish, marinated with achiote and wrapped in banana leaves for grilling.
To learn more about the ancient Mayan people, Tulum can be visited in a day (although it is quite a long drive), and you can wander the incredible ruins to experience the remains of the historic architecture. Alternatively, Cancún is the place to go to party, with plenty of bars and clubs that invite you to dance the night away.
