Rent Villa Ania Spain
Holiday Home Rental Description
Situated near the bustling little settlement of La Cala de Mijas, this lovely, spacious villa is just a few minutes from the town and beach, perfect for those seeking a fun and relaxing holiday in sunny Andalucia. Set across multiple floors, it has a capacity for up to 8 people and is ideal for hosting a family with children or friends looking to spread out and enjoy an indulgent holiday.
Upon entering, an integrated living and dining space is practically furnished with floor-to-ceiling openings that draw in the natural light throughout the day. Arranged in an L-shape, the room pivots around the outdoor patio, giving multiple access points to the private terrace and the swimming pool below. The living area has three large sofas, perfect for playing a game or reclining in front of the 42′ plasma screen TV to watch a movie and take a break from the sun.
Further along, the modern kitchen is fully fitted with all the necessary appliances to cook a feast for the whole family. The adjoining room features a dining table to seat 8-10 people when eating inside comfortably, but why not enjoy the long, balmy evenings and dine al fresco on the terrace overlooking the garden?
Two bedrooms are also on this level, one with a double bed and the other with two singles, both enjoying the privacy of an ensuite bathroom. The villa also benefits from a separate utility room with a washer and dryer for those staying longer.
Going up to the first floor, there are two further bedrooms. The main bedroom has a large double bed and ensuite bathroom, complete with a hot tub to indulge in after a beach day. A private terrace is directly accessed from the master, the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee whilst looking over the garden. Also on this floor is a spacious second bedroom with two twin beds. All the bedrooms receive an abundance of daylight through large openings, and either open the window for a natural breeze or find the optimum temperature with the air conditioning and central heating.
The lower ground floor offers multiple social spaces and keeps the family entertained. Challenge one another to a round of pool in the games room or sit back and enjoy a movie in the home cinema. For those looking to keep up their fitness routine, this level also features a gym equipped with running, rowing and cycling machines, or use the squash court for a bit of cardio. A wet room with a jacuzzi, steam and sauna offers the perfect post-workout relaxation.
The villa has ample outside space to enjoy the long sunny days and a more private alternative to spending time on the beach. A large swimming pool, surrounded by a generous terrace, is perfect for lounging on one of the reclining beds or taking a gentle dip in the water to cool off. Set back from the main road, Villa Ania is located on a quiet residential street, less than fifteen minutes walk from the seafront and the centre of town. Make the most of the warm Mediterranean climate by finding a spot on the town’s golden sand beach. The gentle shore makes it perfect for families, building sandcastles or paddling in the shallow water. For the more adventurous, there is a selection of water sports at the far end of the beach, offering numerous activities such as jet skiing, water skiing or paragliding.
Once one of the original fishing villages of the Costa del Sol, the charming town is a lovely size, laid back and slow-paced; there are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafés. A promenade set back from the sand runs parallel to the main street and is filled with gift shops, beach stalls, and ice cream stands for a delightful afternoon treat. Seek some shade in the middle of the day, enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of the many chirinquitos (beach bars) and relax into the afternoon sipping cocktails while enjoying the lovely sea view.
The town continues to bustle in the evening, with a collection of bars and restaurants offering traditional Spanish cuisine. Fresh from the local fisherman, enjoy the day’s catch or the tasty ‘pescaito frito’, a staple on many menus. For dessert, try the traditional ‘arroz con leche’, Andalusia’s take on rice pudding, a cold dish sweetened with cinnamon and honey. There are also several international restaurants, or for those after a livelier atmosphere, look to the popular Olivia’s – the town’s infamous restaurant boasts an expansive rooftop terrace perfect for an evening of entertainment and relaxing underneath the stars.
For a bit of history, head inland to one of the mountain villages to discover the typical whitewashed hillside houses. Explore the narrow streets and vaulted passageways, or ride in one of the ‘donkey taxis’. Churches date back to the Moors, where you can admire the ancient architecture or find a souvenir from one of the little artisan shops selling local craftwork, wicker or wonderful homemade honey.
Slightly further afield is the vibrant city of Malaga, offering a wide selection of cultural activities with a redeveloped port area and several galleries, including the prestigious Centre Pompidou Málaga. The more glamorous Marbella is also within half an hour’s drive, providing a more cosmopolitan atmosphere with trendy clubs and exclusive restaurants for a glitzy night out. Dotted between these is an abundance of beaches and long stretches of sand popular with locals and holidaymakers enjoying the clear blue waters and Mediterranean climate. There are also various Golf courses nearby to enjoy a round or two in the afternoon sun.
