The road is built over two storeys, with four exquisitely appointed bedrooms, which can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests, ideal for a family holiday or a group of friends’ special getaway.

The clever configuration of the riad effectively creates mini-suites. The ground floor has a tiled hallway leading to a living space with a seating area and access to the patio; a small kitchen has a hob, mini-fridge, dishwasher and a built-in dining table on which to serve supper. Riad Verde can be found in a quiet cobbled street in the centre of the inland town of Silves, a historic area of the Algarve region of Portugal near the Atlantic coast. Your holiday home is sixty-five kilometres from the nearest international airport in Faro. Silves is famous for its rich Moorish and medieval influences, which can be seen in the castle and cathedral, the treasures of which are displayed in the Archeological Museum. In the town, you will find stores and markets stocked with provisions for your stay and lots of welcoming cafes, bars, and restaurants.

The nearest beach is approximately a twenty-minute drive away; choose from Praia da Marinha, de Benagil, or the fabulous da Rocha, set in stunning scenery with soft sand and crystal clear waters for swimming and snorkelling. Try your hand at a selection of water sports, including surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. For those who prefer being on the water, all aboard for a boat tour and dolphin spotting along the coast whilst you explore the hidden bays and secret coves.

The area is renowned for its world-class golf courses and links; start small with a game of mini golf, and work your way up to the international level.

In the evening, go into the happening resort of Portimão, wine and dine by the seashore, and dance until dawn in the lively bars and clubs.
