Exclusive Chauffeured Tour of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset & Hampshire in Mercedes S560e Grand Edition
Day 1
Depart for Devon and Cornwall via Castle Combe, setting for so many film and television series over the last century and probably one of the quintessential Cotswold villages.
Light lunch at the Priory Hotel, sister to Gidleigh Park, in Bath. Short visit of Bath, time permitting.
Accommodation -Junior Suite- and dinner at the award-winning Michael Caines’ hotel, Lympstone Manor. Located close to the county town of Exeter and the estuary inlet to Exmouth, a glorious golden sandy beach, it is also home to the famous Royal Marines training HQ and the delightfully quaint La Ronde, another National Trust property but one which is well worth the visit for the views alone!
Day 2
Cross the estuary for a visit to Powderham Castle. Powderham archivist and historian is will show you the historical records with a special private access talk with you after/with the Earl.
Afterwards, a private visit to the home of the Earl and Countess of Clifford at Ugbrooke Park, with a private tour and tea with the heir to the title.
Or a drive down to the award winning cheese and winery at Sharpham plus a scenic tour of the famous South Hams estuary villages of this bucolic part of England, with a river crossing at Dartmouth on the Kingswear ferry and time permitting, visit the home of Agatha Christie, now a National Trust property.
Return to Lympstone for dinner.
Day 3
Depart hotel via the Jurassic coast for Hampshire.
From Lympstone, drive along the coast to Sidmouth, through Seaton and Lyme Regis, perhaps with a stop here to see the Cob, where the film the French Lieutenant’s Woman was filmed with much notoriety from Thomas Hardy’s novels. And perhaps visit the Abbotsbury Swannery?
Lunch at West Bay, Burton Bradstock or Bridport at one of the beach cafes or Athelhampton House, then on towards Dorchester and the coast road to New Milton and the glorious hotel at Relais et Chateaux Chewton Glen. Located at the edge of the New Forest, this is truly a special spot.
Dinner at Chewton Glen at 7:30 pm
Day 4
Isle of Wight Sailing or Superyacht day trip around the Solent in a Princess Yacht. You’ll be amazed at the beauty of the English coastline.
Final evening at Chewton Glen, with dinner.
