Cook anything you wish on the gas range, fondue pots or outdoor barbecue and pizza oven. Three fireplaces – including two retro Malms – make for a convivial dining experience in the great outdoors. The five-acre grounds are believed to have been occupied by Chemehuevia, Serrano or Cahuilla Native Americans and are well worth exploring. Otherwise, fill hours playing bocce, giant Jenga or vintage board games, and don’t forget to bring your vinyl – there’s a record player here. Drive to the Joshua Tree National Park in thirty-six minutes or the Pioneertown Wildlands Reserve Park in just sixteen minutes for picturesque hiking, cacti counting and magical stargazing. *You’ll need to drive on uneven dirt roads to get here, so please take it slow – a four-wheel-drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain
