In an exclusive location, step out of your home and the beaches, bars and boutiques of Cannes are just minutes away. Wander up La Croisette with its towering pine trees and swaying palms passing yachts, sandy beaches and upmarket restaurants, as far as the well-known steps of the Palais des Festivals, then experience the vibrancy of the indoor market at Marché Forville followed by a stroll through Le Suquet, Cannes’ charming old quarter.
Charter a yacht and skipper for the day or perhaps discover the surrounding coastal scenery by sea-kayak or stand-up paddle boarding – there is a wealth of watersports in and around Cannes. Take a ferry across to the tranquil Lérins islands or head out by car to some of the Côte d’Azur’s other gems such as Antibes, Juan-Les-Pins, Nice and Monaco. Not to mention the idyllic hilltop villages and magnificent landscapes of the hinterland – there is so much to explore in the glorious French Riviera. Located on Cannes’ iconic La Croisette, step out of your villa and the city’s bars, restaurants and nightlife are just a short stroll away. On the southern end of this famous boulevard, within 600m you can be lazing on the main city beach with its sandy shores and inviting water.
Even closer are smaller beaches, some with a choice of watersports. Indeed, across Cannes you will find sailing clubs, diving centres as well as other water-based activities such as paddle-boarding, sea-kayaking, jet-ski and more. Boat trips whisk you away for sunset cruises along the Côte d’Azur, whale-watching excursions or out to the beautiful Lérins islands.
Then there are the high-end restaurants, glitzy bars and pretty boutiques or you may prefer soaking up the ambience at one of the atmospheric food markets such as Marché Forville. Visit the characterful old fishermen’s quarter, Le Suquet, and admire the glorious views from Église Notre-Dame d’Espérance, before heading back down the hill to wander past yachts in the marina near the Palais des Festivals.
Further along the coast is the charming old town of Antibes (10km) with its winding lanes, historic ramparts and Picasso museum as well as the chic seaside resort of Juan-Les-Pins, especially loved by Parisians during the height of the summer. Cap d’Antibes offers yet more idyllic beaches and some wonderful walking trails along the dramatic and stunning coastline.
Nice (34km) and Monaco (50km) are also easily reached for fantastic days out or head inland to discover some of the idyllic villages and towns of the hinterland such as artistic Mougins, the market town of Valbonne and Grasse, the perfume capital of France. Keen walkers will love the Valmasque forests with a particularly lovely route along the Brague river between nearby Biot and Valbonne.
The golf courses also have a fine reputation, especially around Mougins whilst there is a great choice of other activities across the region such as horse-riding, go-karting, tree-top adventure courses and so much more.
