The open-plan kitchen-diner is incredibly spacious, with ample room for the whole family to eat and cook together while enjoying stunning ocean views. The kitchen area is bursting with high-end appliances such as an oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, as well as glossy kitchen units and countertops, cookware, utensils and crockery to make preparing meals a real joy.
Casa Pavilhao has three stylish and modern bedrooms, all decorated in the same light decor and featuring breathtaking views. The master suite features a huge ensuite with facilities that include both a bathtub and a shower, as well as plenty of wardrobe space. There is another spacious double bedroom, as well as a twin room – ideal for the kids – and another bedroom with a high-quality sofa bed, all of which have elegant decor and functional, well-made furniture. The villa’s main bathroom has a bath and shower, making getting ready quick and convenient for the whole family.
The grounds of Casa Pavilhao are equally impressive, with fully furnished and covered areas for eating, reading and relaxing. There are many alfresco options for sitting and enjoying a pre-dinner drink or for soaking up the sun, thanks to the addition of loungers and even a stylish swing chair. A villa holiday is made all the more special with a pool, and Casa Pavilhao offers an incredible one – a spa pool with a hot tub and a children’s swimming area which overlooks Funchal, the mountains and the sea. Casa Pavilhao is ideally located for those who like to have all the important amenities close at hand and is just a short walk from supermarkets, bakeries and play parks, as well as some nice places to eat. The town centre of Funchal is around a ten-minute walk away and has plenty to offer guests staying here. This modern and cosmopolitan area has style as well as substance and is well known for its top-class restaurants, warm climate, natural beauty and, of course, for its most famous export: world-class footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. Overlooking the dazzling blue of the Atlantic and backed by dramatic mountain ranges, this lush and green city offers a relaxed atmosphere by day amidst its banana plantations and flower gardens and a vibrant and varied nightlife after dark.
Tourists here enjoy spending time swimming in the crystal clear waters, surfing, taking boat trips and whale-watching, as well as hiking, paragliding, and playing golf. Whatever you are into – you’ll find it here in Funchal! If you’re here for the nightlife, you won’t be disappointed, although it’s worth noting that it is not as ‘obvious’ as its neighbouring island counterparts of Tenerife or Gran Canaria. Guests here tend to spend the evenings and earlier parts of the night dining in one of the many restaurants and bars (we highly recommend trying some Poncha while you’re here – a delicious local sugar cane rum!), and then heading home for a few hours before setting out again around midnight, with bars and clubs in the area offering good music and a friendly ambience right through until 7 am!
Funchal is a fantastic place to holiday all year round, with the city’s Carnival and Flower Festival celebrated during the summer months, where you can enjoy samba beats and colourful costumed parades, as well as June’s Atlantic Festival’s International Fireworks Competition and the region’s wine festival.
