Located in a quiet neighbourhood of Barcelona, just 10 minutes from the famous World Heritage monuments of Sagrada Familia and the Hospital de Sant Pau and 20 minutes from the city centre, Casa Cartella is a stunning villa, sleeping up to 16 guests in 8 magnificent bedrooms. Casa Cartella is beautiful and elegant, offering a huge amount of entertainment space inside and out. There are games rooms, living spaces, bedroom suites, various terraces, a swimming pool, hot tub and a stunning garden. All in such a privileged location. The styling is a total mix, flamboyant in part, luxurious in part, totally unique and certainly fascinating. There is a wonderful combination of exquisite antiques, modern, avant-garde furnishings together with some contemporary styling and luxury soft furnishings. The result is highly impressive. The 8 double bedrooms are spread across all three floors and are totally unique. You will find individual air conditioning, safe boxes, televisions, sofas, boudoirs and closets together with extravagant furnishings. Five of the bedrooms enjoy ensuite bathrooms and the others share family bathrooms. Most of the bedrooms boast single beds that are next to each other making huge beds. The high level of attention to detail is clearly evident.
When arriving at the sensational Casa Cartella, you enter into an impressive entrance hall with a majestic marble staircase leading to the upper floors. The entrance hall gives you a first glimpse of the wonder and fascination that awaits. Two enormous, exclusive 18th century Chinese vases and bronze lamps adorn this impressive space. Most of the ground floor space is home to an incredible games and living space, designed by one of the most prestigious decorators of Barcelona. Your holiday group will spend considerable time here enjoying the table tennis, football and pool tables or perhaps a game of cards or just relaxing on the sumptuous sofas watching the huge television or enjoying drinks from the bar. There is also a quiet reading area, something for everyone! Two of the luxury bedrooms are located on the ground floor, one enjoying an ensuite bathroom and the other having use of a separate bathroom.
The first floor is home to four double bedrooms, three bathrooms of which two are ensuite and the living spaces. The bedrooms are again extravagant and blissfully comfortable. The main bathroom offers an indulgent whirlpool tub where you can relax and think about the day’s adventures. The dining table seats all 16 guests and is open plan with the spacious, elegant living room. The striking, contemporary kitchen boasts dazzling bright red cabinetry, exposed brick walls, a handy breakfast bar where guests can keep the chef in your group company and a breakfast table. With Italian styling, two refridgerators, coffee makers and prestigious Siemens appliances, the kitchen is a chef’s dream. From the kitchen there is direct access to the villa’s swimming pool, alfresco dining, hot tub, garden and an outdoor bathroom. The 8m x 4m pool is wonderful and is surrounded by tropical wooden decking and hammocks. There will be a rush for the deluxe 6 person hot tub, the perfect place to relax after a busy day sightseeing.
On the second floor you will find a small studio space, another double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and the tower room with an ensuite. There is another terrace accessed from all rooms with a delightful wooden floor, elegant latticework, comfortable seating and loungers. With beautiful lighting, it is atmospheric and another popular relaxation space.
The manager and housekeeper of Casa Cartella are very helpful and will willingly offer suggestions for your holiday. The housekeeper offers daily weekday cleaning. Las Rambla enjoys a wonderful market where you can taste delicious food and wines and alfresco dining. Hidden away, there are charming small tapas bars serving local cured Iberico ham, gazpacho soup and la bomba, a potato croquette served with spicy tomato sauce and a healthy portion of aioli. Many bars serve the famous local Estrella as well as delicious sangria and cocktails. Live music is in abundance with jazz spilling out of basements and the rhythms of flamenco enthralling the crowds. The nightclubs are renowned. Barcelona is a city that never sleeps!
The sun-drenched Barceloneta Beach is a popular spot where you can enjoy paddleboarding, sunset cruises, waterside dining and impressive sand sculptors. The promenade is a delight with alfresco wining and dining, street entertainers and families having a wonderful time. The 4.5km stretch of sandy bays along the shoreline make Barcelona the perfect city break with a side of beach. Nova Icaria Beach and Bogatell Beach offer a more peaceful feel.
The Montjuic hilltop is close to the city offering endless exploring, botanic and sculpture gardens, excellent museums, fantastic art galleries, an old castle and breathtaking panoramic views.
