The modern kitchen is fully-equipped and is decorated to a natural aesthetic with crisp whites, stone counters, and cool tiled floors. The outdoor area is always a hit with guests, and the pool is undoubtedly a highlight of the property. Sun worshippers will be in their element by the pool, and it’s easy to see why guests spend hours here topping up their tans. You’ll be surrounded by Spanish flora and the natural landscape, so your time outdoors is guaranteed to be peaceful and rejuvenating. The space is perfect for some outdoor entertaining and was built with those long summer evenings in mind.Located towards the northern end of the Costa Blanca, Benissa is a small yet charming town dotted with exquisite medieval architecture and European plazas. The town has a well-preserved and well-maintained historical centre with charming nooks, centuries-old rough stone townhouses, and wrought iron balconies with colourful cascades of flowers hanging over the streets.
At the heart of the old town is the neo-gothic style “Catedral de la Marina” (Marina Cathedral). A highlight of any trip to Benissa, the cathedral was only finished in the 20th century and is a relaxing stop on a day out. Palm trees shade the town square, and a children’s play area is sure to keep the little ones happy, and you can stock up on a picnic at any one of the supermarkets in the town. Also near the villa is Moraira, a quaint coastal town with gorgeous blue waters that you will surely not want to miss!
If it’s beaches that you’re after, the stretch of coastline that houses Benissa is home to a number of quiet relaxing bays and coves and is dotted with cliffs and spectacular rocks which sit against the high mountain backdrop. The quiet beach of Playa La Fustera is idyllic, lined with fine sand, and is practically virgin, earning it a coveted EU blue flag beach status.
For a family day out, you can’t go wrong with Cala Els Pinets, a twenty-metre-long small and sandy cove which is perfect for those who prefer smaller beaches. The clear, turquoise waters and rocky formations make it a delight to snorkel, so pack a picnic and grab your snorkelling gear. Benissa has four kilometres of coastline, and visitors love to make their way along it via the ecological path (Paseo Ecologico) coastal walk, a lovely day trip for visitors to discover the local coves. Benissa is also popular with scuba divers as there’s a good variety of marine life and caves to explore.
A thirty-minute drive from the villa is the old town of Javea, a city bursting with history which cries out to be explored on foot. You’ll walk past walls that were originally built to defend against pirate attacks and tread cobbled streets lined with white houses, flower boxes and wrought iron balconies. Head to the church of San Bartoleme in the town centre, which is the epitome of gothic architecture and make sure to visit the 18th-century town hall, which was built on a medieval cemetery. The church dates back to the 15th century and sits next to the indoor market, which sells fresh fish, meat and vegetables daily.
