Villa Gemlik is a spectacular, contemporary detached villa for up to six guests, nestled in the up-market Komurluk area of Kalkan with views to write home about, just a fifteen-minute walk to the town centre. Set against the cliff-face, clad in local stone with a flat-roofed structure in the local style, this impeccably executed home is finished with architectural panache and modernist styling. Designed to bring in maximum natural light, it has floor-to-ceiling glass on both storeys and a full-length balcony on the first floor.
 
Six guests can be accommodated (including use of a double sofa bed), with two hotel-standard double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms and balcony access. A natural interplay between indoor and outdoor living means al fresco dining is a stylish affair, with a sublime, fresh-water pool overlooking views of the bay. With luscious day beds, elegant parasols and ample shade beneath the veranda, guests can enjoy the outdoors protected from the heat of the day.
 
Set across two storeys, this home offers all the contemporary touches, with Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and Satellite television. Airy, open-plan living space looks out onto the sea vistas, with a minimalist, contemporary finish complete with enormous L-shaped sofa for those down-time moments and feature fireplace. This unfussy and neutral space sits alongside the dining area and kitchen offering granite work surfaces and top-grade appliances, making self-catering a breeze. 
 
Guests are ensured a restorative stay with the exquisite bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, stunning views and balcony access. Finessed with grace, they have crisp, quality linen and the master has a sumptuous velveteen chaise-longue. Wandering out for morning coffee on the balcony will ease you into the day nicely!
 
The outdoor space comprises pool with infinity edge and Roman steps for graded entry, spacious terrace area together with shaded pergola and a second pergola with Ottoman-style seating, meaning poolside dinners overlooking the beautiful sea views are in order, or pool-side breakfasts after a refreshing morning dip.

This prestigious villa is in a smart area of Kalkan – the Komurluk area, just moments from one of Kalkan’s most popular beach clubs. Access to the harbour can be reached via free water taxi from nearby Palm Beach Club, which is a few minutes walk away.
The beach club provides direct access to the sea via stunning sun-deck and small private beach. Sun loungers and parasols are available for hire, and there is also an excellent sea view restaurant.
Originally a local town of winding cobbled lanes and traditional sea-food restaurants, today Kalkan is a bustling town with colourful markets, vibrant bars and restaurants as well as charming boutiques and artisanal fare. Kalkan is set on one of the most beautiful parts of Turkey’s ‘Turquoise Coast’ and offers endless boating and water sports potential. Boat trips, whether by gulet (traditional wooden fishing boat) or yacht, are a memorable way to explore hidden coves and islands. Stopping off for snorkelling, or a local lunch of gozleme (flatbread) will be a pleasure.
Kalkan is a historically enchanting place, remaining an unspoiled haven of luscious nature, crystal-clear azure sea, historic architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality. Known for its proximity to ancient Lycian sites (around 20 major sites) and distinctive funerary architecture, history buffs will be in their element.
