Located in the epicentre of tourist activity in Barcelona, Skobeloff Pincushion is perfectly positioned for a big group of friends and family – especially if this is your first visit and you’d like to be close to the Cathedral or Casa Batlló. This home’s design is focused on functionality, rather than aesthetics, but we liked the vaulted ceiling and the exposed bricks, which are part of the building’s original design. There’s also a big communal terrace at the top of the building, offering scenic views.

* The biggest bedroom has two beds in it – the three guests sleeping there won’t have a lot of privacy
* There isn’t enough space to seat everyone at the dining table or on the sofa in the living room at full occupancy
* The rooftop terrace shared with other occupants in the building
* When we tested the WiFi, it wasn’t fast enough for our standards
