Start mornings with breakfast in the bright sunroom before heading out into the garden for a game of table tennis or a quiet cup of tea on the patio as the kids occupy themselves in the playroom. Lunchtime brings with it the wistful sounds and scents of the summer: picnics on the freshly mowed lawn, strawberries and cream for pudding, glasses of Pimm’s and the clattering of plates. If rain threatens, nip back indoors to the cosy living space, light the log burning fire and nestle among the plump sofa cushions. Spend warm afternoons exploring the coves of Woody Bay and Steephill, a twenty-five-minute walk away. Go for a paddle at Ventnor Beach or keep dry and watch the waves roll in from the pub on the esplanade.
