Can Ortenbach is located in the town of Calpe, a short walk from the beaches and the picturesque salt flats. From sunbathing to bird watching, there is plenty to keep you busy in this beautiful area, with the rich Spanish food and culture perfectly complementing the stunning natural scenery! Sleek and stylish, the monochrome stylings of Can Ortenbach are complimented by bright artworks, adding splashes of colour to the sleek walls. Sleeping twelve guests, this spacious villa offers a modern retreat away from the hustle and bustle of your day to day lives, with large open plan living areas, bright bedrooms and a fabulous terrace.
The ground floor boasts the main living space, all open plan with patio doors to the terrace. At one end you will find yourself in the contemporary kitchen, with black granite worktops and white cupboards, fully equipped for your use. The centre of the room is furnished with a large 8-person dining table, its glass surface reflecting sunlight around the room and filling the space with laughter as you all gather around for group meals! A huge sofa takes up the rest of the room, with space for plenty of people to curl up together, switching on the TV when you need to zone out and relax.
There are five double bedrooms on the ground floor, two with en-suite bathrooms and three sharing a large family bathroom. The sixth bedroom can be found on the lower ground floor, with an en-suite shower room and a private entrance, perfect for those who prefer a little extra privacy. Adopting the same chic styles as the rest of the villa, the bedroom’s white walls and minimalist furnishings create a serene atmosphere where you can rest and restore, saving your energy for each day of holiday adventures.
Outside, Can Ortenbach boasts views over the town. A covered terrace extends out from the villa’s ground floor, with an outdoor dining area and barbecue where you can enjoy afternoons in the shade, cooking and dining al-fresco. Steps lead down to the vast pool terrace, with a large private swimming pool bordered by sun loungers – a favourite spot for many of our guests!From the bustling cosmopolitan resorts of Alicante and Benidorm to the more peaceful ambience of the seaside towns of Moraira and Calpe, the Costa Blanca truly offers something for everyone! One of Spain’s most popular tourist destinations, the Costa Blanca stretches 200 kilometres along the Mediterranean coast, scattered with beautiful beaches, historical sights and enticing seaside resorts.
Can Ortenbach is located in the town of Calpe, a well-known holiday spot, just an hour from Alicante and 30-minutes from Benidorm. Popular with those after a more active holiday, the area is perfect for energetic outdoor activities, after which you can retreat to one of the many beautiful beaches for some well- deserved relaxation! 900 meters from the villa are the salt flats, where you can spot a majestic variety of migratory birds including pink flamingo, coots, redfish, stilts and grey heron! The villa is also just a 30-minute walk from La Fosa beach, classified as one of the best blue flag beaches in Spain with its crystal-clear waters and sandy shores.
The busy beaches promenade is scattered with a wide variety of shops and restaurants, where you can taste some of the local Calpe gastronomy! Meat, fish, rice and olive oil are typical of the region, with the Mediterranean menus making great use of local ingredients, offering plenty of options for you to try. The region’s wines aren’t too bad either – the perfect accompaniment to your meal!
The centre of Calpe has everything you need to make your stay comfortable, with a supermarket, post office, bank and some specialist shops. There are plenty of restaurants and bars for you to choose from, and many within a short walk of the villa. Among Calpe’s other amenities are a cinema, aquatic centre and a fitness centre with a sauna. For those who want to explore the history of the town, there is also plenty to see, including the ancient town walls and the Iglesia Vieja church.
You should also visit the Fiestas Museum and Museum of Archaeology, both in the centre of town. Twice-weekly markets give you even more to explore, and summers see the streets alive with festivities (not to be missed if you are lucky enough to be around!).
From Calpe Marina, you can hire a boat to explore the whole Costa Blanca coastline, pulling into small coves and hidden beaches to swim, snorkel and explore this mesmerising part of the world. You can also try water-skiing, windsurfing and water sports, adding a thrill to relaxing days by the beach.
