Villa Laura is a relaxing, rustic retreat that sits within an extensive plot offering stunning views. It’s located in the charming town of Calpe on the Costa Blanca and is close to sandy beaches.
Beautifully furnished with a warm feel throughout, this villa is a great family-friendly base for exploring this picturesque region of Spain. Traditional features sit alongside modern conveniences, making for a comfortable place to call home as you enjoy your holiday.
The extensive accommodation is set over three levels and provides plenty of flexibility for families and groups of friends. There are three living rooms in total, with all having a television each – so you’re spoilt for choice when it’s movie night!
Each room also has plenty of comfortable sofas and chairs for sinking back into and relaxing. There are also three dining rooms, with the largest having dining facilities for up to 10 people and doors leading out to the outside space.
With three kitchens, all your meal is prepping, and cooking needs are covered. All have a range of modern facilities, including an electric oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, coffee machine and toaster.
There are five bedrooms, with three having a double bed each and one that benefits from an ensuite bathroom. The other two bedrooms both have two single beds each.
The three bathrooms with a shower each ensure no arguments over who gets to go in first and allow everyone to kick-start their mornings or unwind in the evenings.
Directly outside the villa are several partially-covered terraces with outdoor furniture for both dining and relaxing. There’s also a barbecue for enjoying al fresco meals made from local produce.
The private swimming pool is right size and shares its area of the garden with a selection of sun loungers. Wrapping around the villa is a gravel garden that’s dotted with pretty trees and plants, giving you a taste of your lush more full surroundings.The centre of Calpe with its amenities, attractions and beaches is around 3 km away, so you can be exploring the historic town just 10 minutes after jumping in the car.
The old town area of Calpe is at the top of a hill and is full of cobbled streets and highly decorated steps to stroll around. Be sure to visit the numerous churches and museums that are dotted all around the old town, including the parish church of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves and the Archaeological Museum. After a morning of sightseeing, enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the many restaurants serving a range of traditional dishes.
Playa de la Fossa is the main beach in Calpe and is only a 5-minute drive if you’re travelling there from the villa. It’s a great place to enjoy a day out by the sea and has a long promenade full of shops, bars and restaurants.
Also be sure to explore Penyal d’Ifac, the massive limestone rock that’s home to over 300 species of animal and numerous rare plants. Declared a natural park in 1987, people have enjoyed hiking up to the top ever since. If you’re feeling energetic yourself, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views over the town and sea.
For a livelier vibe, head around 30 minutes south to Benidorm. Far from being a raucous party town, there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy here. As well as having waterparks, zoos and theme parks, there’s a charming old town area full of interesting family-run shops and terrace cafés for soaking up the bustling atmosphere. You can also pick up some bargains at the many market stalls.
