Villa Portet Spain

You’ll find Villa Portet in a quiet, residential area less than a few kilometres from the small coastal town of Moraira. A popular destination for both visitors and the Spanish, this region of Costa Blanca has every ingredient for a perfect holiday.
Sleeping only four people but with two bathrooms, Villa Portet is a perfect holiday home for a family or two couples sharing. All rooms lead off the airy entrance hall but your feet take you straight out to the pool terrace at the back. The covered patio is big enough to find welcome shade in the heat of the day, or you can cool off in the beautiful private pool.
The terracotta tiles around the pool are bedecked with sun loungers, tables, chairs and umbrellas – make sure you try every one during your stay! The shaped pool is ten metres in length and the broad, inviting steps will gently lower you into the refreshing water. Heaven.
Villa Portet also has a gravelled garden with trees and a barbecue – the best way to enjoy food bought at Moraira’s Friday morning market.
Back inside, the white interior is cooling and all your accommodation is on one level. The kitchen is small but well-equipped and both the lounge-diner and double bedroom feature patio doors which open straight out to the pool terrace. The second bedroom has twin beds and both bathrooms include a shower, one over the bath.
If you fancy a break from relaxing around the pool, Villa Portet is well-served with sightseeing options and activities. Moraira has two lovely white sandy beaches. Playa l’Ampolla is next to the town and El Portet is by the marina. At both beaches, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to buy ice creams and drinks and the clear blue water of the Mediterranean will wash away any remaining stresses from home.
There are lots of water sports and sailing options at Moraira marina but if walking is your preferred activity, there are dozens of trails to choose from. These will either take you along breezy coastal paths and promenades or on more challenging climbs, through Moraira’s incredibly green and picturesque countryside.
Back at your very own private villa and pool, the whitewashed walls, terracotta pots and palm plants are all constant reminders of your Mediterranean location. No need to dream of elsewhere – you’re here!Moraira lies in the northernmost district of Costa Blanca. It is blessed with a huge variety of trees and plants and is incredibly green all year round. Almond trees come into bloom in February but if you’re here in May and June, you’ll probably smell the orange blossom. Moraira also enjoys on average eleven hours of sunshine a day through the summer months, as well as a welcome sea breeze along the coast.
The two beaches very close to Villa Portet are basically either side of Moraira’s town centre and marina, which is also the water sports centre. You’re spoilt for choice with windsurfing, sailing, diving, snorkelling to name but a few. If you venture a little further down the coast, you’ll discover more tucked-away beaches, rocky coves and the crystal-clear water of the Mediterranean.
Moraira is an upmarket town, with tree-lined avenues, an old market square and cobbled streets. It’s just as popular with the locals as it is with visitors, so you’ll find it less ‘touristy’ than other places along the Costa Blanca. If you stay for lunch, why not try the local soup or stew called Ollas. There’s a street market every Friday morning, where you can choose local ingredients for dinner, as well as leather goods, ceramics and clothes.
Twelve kilometres inland, and 275 metres above sea level, is the medieval town of Benissa. Successfully renovated from decline about forty years ago, Benissa will charm you with it’s narrow streets, ancient town hall and rustic appeal. Treat your taste buds to one of their speciality sausages before heading home.
Villa Portet is a great place whatever your interests. But if you’re a golfer, there are three excellent courses within easy reach of the villa. Club de Golf Ifach is just four kilometres and Don Cayo and La Sella Golf are both about half an hour away.
