A spacious holiday home with beautiful architectural design, Villa Lurdes sits within a residential area close to the heart of Moraira on the Costa Blanca.
This villa is pretty in pink to the exterior, which is also somewhat unique in its shape and design. It could almost pass for a fairytale castle, with its stone build, tower, romantic arches and balconies. Inside, there’s a charming feel throughout, with natural wood furnishings and tile floors adding a rustic touch.
Villa Lurdes’ warm, family-friendly accommodation is set over two floors. The living room is a cosy space with enough comfortable sofas and chairs for all the family to relax. An impressive fireplace is the focal point of the space, and there’s also a television for watching films.
Adjacent to the living room is a dining area with a classic wood table that seats up to six people. Separating this space and the kitchen is a bar and stools that are ideal for quick breakfasts. You could also use the small table and chairs in the kitchen, which is large and well-equipped with modern facilities. Particularly convenient are the dishwasher and washing machine.
There are four bedrooms in total, with two having a double bed, additional single bed and ensuite bathroom each. The third and fourth bedrooms features three single beds, perfect rooms for the kids to share! All share the use of a large family bathroom with bathtub and shower.
Accessed via patio doors are several partially-covered terraces with outdoor furniture for dining. Within the extensive grounds is a separate building with lounge area, outdoor kitchen and barbecue. On the central patio is a lagoon-shaped private swimming pool surrounded by several palm trees for a tropical feel.
Also sitting by the pool are a selection of sun loungers for soaking up the peaceful atmosphere and picturesque mountain views. Giving you your slice of the Costa Blanca countryside is a small area of garden with various plants and trees.You can reach the town centre of Moraira after just a 5-minute drive from Villa Lurdes, meaning it’s ideally located for stocking up on groceries and other holiday essentials.
A traditional fishing village, Moraira has become a famous resort town but also one that has retained much of its charm, which can be especially felt in the old town area. Winding, cobbled streets are home to traditional shops and restaurants, and the main square is the perfect place to people watch as you enjoy a drink or some lunch.
There are plenty of historical buildings to visit, with most being pretty little churches. Probably the most impressive site is the 18th-century castle that sits overlooking the sands of Playa de l’Ampolla.
There are several beaches close to Moraira, but Playa de l’Ampolla is one of the best for families. As well as having calm waters for swimming, there’s a small stream where the younger ones can play safely and a play area if they’re not keen on the water. If everyone does love splashing about on the sea, hire some pedalos to see the beautiful city from a new perspective. There’s a great choice of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Just under an hour away is the ancient fortified town of Guadalest. It sits high on a mountaintop overlooking the valley where the Guadalest River runs. A long tunnel connects the old town and castle areas carved out of the rock in the mountainside and is the most beautiful to stroll around.
The cobbled streets are full of old village houses, charming squares and historical sites. Browse the numerous shops for some local produce or souvenirs, as well as the several museums that can be found around the town. The views from the castle over the reservoir and surrounding countryside are just breathtaking.
