Wow! The style and attention to detail in this beautiful four-bedroom hillside villa is amazing! Villa Alvarinha is situated in a prime position in Meano, near Pontevedra in Galicia, close to the wonderful A Lanzada beach. Sleeping eight, it is just perfect for a family or group of friends.
With fantastic, engrossing views overlooking the Salnes Valley and the Atlantic Ocean, Villa Alvarinha is a brilliant choice for a relaxing holiday close to historic towns and close to wide expanses of glorious white sandy beaches.
The house is immaculate in detail yet wonderfully warm and comfortable. The private walled garden is absolutely stunning with wonderful sculptures as well as the amazing 8x5m pool with hydromassage and incredible planting. To the side of house you will find a lovely quiet covered area decked out with fabulous cushioned seating – just perfect to relax, play a game of cards or just chat! There are many beautiful areas of the garden to be quiet – look out for the hammock and the small seating area close to some of the sculptures! Lovely family dinners can be prepared on the barbecue.
Inside the house, the artwork will be much admired. The living areas are sumptuous and inviting. The kitchen is fantastic and also home to a huge collection of books for your enjoyment. The welcome pack provided is a good start. For gym fanatics there is some good equipment to keep up your exercise.
On the first floor there are two very stylish, tasteful double bedrooms and a twin. Some of the bedrooms have fantastic sloping beamed ceilings and full height windows/doors to the lovely balconies. Seats have been placed so that you can chill and take in the breath-taking views. One of the bedrooms can be an independent studio as it has its own kitchen and bathroom. The cute balcony overlooks the pool and garden and is a peaceful haven for a late-night drink or to enjoy that holiday read. Located on the top floor, there is a master king bedroom with ensuite and another lovely terrace offering incredible views. There are five bathrooms in total – two with baths and three with showers.
Villa Alvarinha is a thrillingly beautiful, remarkable place to book for your holiday, in an ideal location for peace, tranquillity and family fun as well as being close to local attractions. Villa Alvarinha is in a very tranquil location with views beyond belief. It is still so close to everything you might want to visit and within 200m of a restaurant and 500m of a shop. It is close to a golf course if that is an attraction.
Playa de la Lanzada is one of the great Galician beaches and is a very popular. With over 3km of long white sand backed by stunning dunes, it is not to be missed. The water is very blue and clear and the sunsets to die for! Don’t forget your camera! Playa Area das Pipas has lots of rocks and tide pools which can be great fun. Backed by pine trees it is very picturesque. It can feel like you have your own private beach in places.
Millions of scallop shells adorn the beautiful little church at Ermita de San Sebastian on Isla de la Toja. It is definitely worth a visit.
The historical city of Pontevedra is a fantastic day out. The beautiful, well-preserved old town and Gothic Santa Maria la Mayor Basilica are incredible. It combines history, culture and style into a fun, lively place. The interlocking cute lanes and picturesque plazas are buzzing with shops, markets, cafes and tapas bars.
Most visitors to Galicia are interested in the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail and Santiago de Compostela. It is an interesting city with magnificent stone architecture and a famous cathedral. The skirl of bagpipes might make you think you are in Scotland. The charming restaurants and bars specialise in fine delicious Galician seafood and local wines.
