High on the bluff, this beachy home overlooks the Marina del Rey and Pacific ocean. It’s in Playa del Rey, a laid back neighbourhood of beach shack restaurants, surf shops and yoga on the sand. You’re just across the creek from Venice Beach and it’s a fifteen-minute drive to Santa Monica beach and pier. The home itself makes the most of oceans views with three terraces and decks, all furnished with seats and tables for drinks and meals outdoors. The living room is big, bright and white with plenty of natural light flooding in from a wall of glass. We especially love the sunken sofa seating, next to the fireplace and facing a view of the creek beyond. Bold artworks liven up the dining room, but the view still takes centre stage from long windows. Bedrooms are decked out in boho-chic style with wooden ceilings giving them an overall beachy vibe.

*While there are beds for six, technically as many as eight can stay here, as there’s a double air mattress that can be set up
*There’s no air conditioning, but the sea breeze keeps things fresh
*You can hear a bit of traffic noise from Culver Boulevard if the doors and windows are open
*Even though street parking is no problem, there isn’t any off-road parking
*Quiet hours are in effect between 10pm and 8am
