Villa Kalecik Turkey
Holiday Home Rental Description
Villa Kalecik is a contemporary villa for six guests in the Calica neighbourhood of Fethiye. It enjoys beautiful furnishings, minimalist styling, gorgeous colour schemes and a smallish garden with a pool. The villa is very smart and enjoys open plan living. Each of the three bedrooms is superbly comfortable, one with an ensuite bathroom and the other two sharing a bathroom. Villa Kalecik is a fantastic base from where you can explore Fethiye, Oludeniz, Kalkan, Kas and many other gems along the Lycian Coast.
Fethiye was hit by a major earthquake in 1958 and has risen again to become a flourishing, atmospheric holiday hotspot and a major base for gulet cruises. The charming Old Town, buzzy, colourful markets and the bustling marina, brimming with expensive yachts and traditional gulets are incredibly popular. Water taxis can whizz you across the bay to the nearest beach at Calis or you can head to the famous Oludeniz lagoon that adorns most Turkey holiday posters. Despite its booming growth, Fethiye remains low-key and laid-back. It’s natural harbour is just fabulous and the bay is sprinkled with pretty islands, including Sovalye Adasi, glimpsed in the James Bond film Skyfall.
Villa Kalecik is very modern in design with good use of glass ensuring that it is drowned in natural light. It is perfect for families and groups of friends with delightful living space and very comfortable bedrooms. Though the outside space is not huge, it is private and well-maintained. The living space is beautifully styled with burgundy and grey tones and well-planned separate zones. In the corner, the grey kitchen is smartly fitted and enjoys excellent appliances. Sumptuous sofas sit close to the wall-mounted television, matching the colourways of the modern dining chairs. These sit around a wonderful wooden dining table. Doors open to the garden and pool terrace.
The villa’s three bedrooms are comprised of two doubles and one twin. One of the doubles and the twin have access to a furnished balcony. They also share a very smart and attractive shower room with stunning tiling. The other bedroom enjoys a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom, again another beautiful space with fabulous tiling and excellent fittings.
The attractive garden circles the house with the pool at the rear of the property. The swimming pool is surrounded by loungers and some architectural garden styling. It is clear to see that a lot of thought has gone into the interior and garden design.Villa Kalecik is located in a quiet neighbourhood of Fethiye. Fethiye is a buzzy tourist hotspot where many leave on gulet cruises having meandered through the bustling markets. Much of Fethiye is modern, thanks to the post-earthquake build, but the Old Town is the charming place to explore the narrow, cobbled streets brimming with whitewashed mosques, restaurants, cafes and gift shops. The fantastic fish market is a great experience where you can choose and buy your fish and have it cooked at one the surrounding restaurants. You won’t get much fresher than the sea bass, sea bream and octopus on offer here! You can enjoy some local wine and meze while you wait for them to cook it. There are plenty of stops for sweet, strong Turkish coffee. On Tuesdays, there is a fabulous market selling souvenirs. You are fully expected to barter for the carpets, ceramics, jewellery and clothes. You can enjoy delicious cocktails and house music in some of the bars as well as local raki and bellydancing. The pretty marina is perfect for an evening stroll. Fethiye has some wonderful Turkish baths. You can visit many for a cheerful, authentic scrub and massage. Many hotels will let you use their facilities. Butterfly Valley is a boat trip away from Fethiye and a excursion. With white sands, plunging cliffs and lots of butterflies, it is very popular. It is only accessible by boat and the steep cliffs overlooking it are unbelievable. The tiger butterfly species arrives in June and remains until late October.
Calis Beach boasts a wonderful array of watersports and a surf school. There is a fun waterpark for children. The Calis Carnival is very colourful with floats decked with bunting and balloons, colourful costumes, marching bands, food tastings, Turkish dancing and craft stalls. There is also a Tomato Festival in Fethiye. It is on the second Sunday in May and starts with tomato picking, then families throw their homes open for tomato based meals. There is dancing and drinking into the night.
The dazzling white sand beaches and turquoise waters of the stunning Oludeniz make for one of the most breathtaking natural spots often seen on posters. You can paraglide over this fabulous site to see the blue lagoon in all its glory. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
