Stay at the ultimate villa with a sea view when you holiday at Villa Sultanite, in the exclusive area of Kordere, in the hot spot destination of Kalkan, on Turkey’s beautiful Turquoise Coast. This modern luxury villa has four bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, and can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests, ideal for a large family holiday or friends sharing. Built with local stone and classic Mediterranean whitewash walls, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the two-storey Villa Sultanite has breathtaking panoramic views of Kalkan Bay. As it is west facing, it enjoys simply stunning cocktail-hour sunsets. Villa Sultanite has a spacious 90 square metres of living space and comes with a private parking and complimentary Wi-Fi and air-conditioning throughout. And for your extra safety and security, there is an alarm system and fire alarm throughout and a safety deposit box in all of the bedrooms.
Enter the villa at the ground floor level, where you will find a contemporary, light and airy, open plan living space. The seating area has a large sea blue wrap-around L-shaped sofa with soft beige furnishings, a fifty-inch multilingual Smart TV, a 5.1 Sound System, a DVD player, and an electric log-effect fire for those cooler evenings. Floor to ceiling windows offers superb sea views and access to the pool terrace. The dining area has a table and beige chairs to seat up to eight guests for some indoor entertaining. An adjacent kitchen in soft browns with stainless steel trim is fully-equipped to cater for all your holiday needs, including a huge American style family sized fridge. A useful separate utility room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board takes care of all of your holiday cleaning. The first of the four bedrooms can be found on the ground floor. A twin bedroom with two separate single beds comes complete with an ensuite bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and a rain shower. This bedroom also gives immediate access to the terrace, which is fabulous to jump straight out of bed and into the pool for a morning swim.
Take the marble staircase to the first floor, where you will find three spacious double bedrooms, stylishly decorated in crisp white with jewel-coloured highlight trim. Two bedrooms have king-size beds, LCD TVs, ensuite bathrooms with jacuzzi baths and rain showers, and balconies with sea views as far as the eye can see. The fourth bedroom has a super king bed, which can be separated into two large singles on request, and also has an LCD TV, ensuite jacuzzi bath and rain shower marble bathroom, and a sea view balcony.
The terrace is where you will spend most of your time, with an inviting 12m x 5.25m infinity swimming pool, with a shallow end sun lounger space, where you can dangle your feet in the water as you sip a cocktail whilst reading the latest bestseller. Better still, bathe in some bubbles as you wallow in the built-in pool Jacuzzi. There is a separate 3.5m x 2.5 shallow kid’s pool, perfect for your little ones to make a splash. Sun loungers surround the pool with shady parasols to keep you cool, and a swing chair is poolside for those who want to look cool. A children’s 150m sq. play area is set up in the surrounding garden, with a pool table for all the family and friends to enjoy. A shaded pergola soft seating area is ideal for a morning coffee, whilst the eight-seater table with adjacent barbeque is perfect for some alfresco dining under the stars. Villa Sultanite is located in Kordere, to the east of the quaint harbour town of Kalkan, situated on the Turquoise Coast, the jewel of the Mediterranean Sea. The town of Kalkan is 125 kilometres from Dalaman Airport, a scenic one and a half hour journey through the Turkish countryside and Taurus mountains. Originally a Greek enclave called Kalamaki, Ottoman and Hellenic influences can be found in the winding streets of the old town, full of traditional white houses and home to a plethora of restaurants, cafes and bars, and souvenir shops full of goodies you’ll want to take home.
From the villa, it is a quick walk to local shops and supermarkets and a short drive into Kalkan, where you can find banks and a local Thursday market that can provide all the provisions for a happy holiday. Within walking distance of the villa are a few of Kalkan’s best and most exclusive beach clubs, with bathing platforms, fabulous restaurants, and some with full-size swimming pools. Or take a trip into town and take a complimentary water taxi to one of the beach clubs on the opposite side of the bay. No stay in Kalkan is complete without a boat trip from the harbour, whether it’s a shared one with family and friends or you charter your own gulet, a day out at sea with your favourite captain and crew, is one to treasure. All aboard for a day of swimming and snorkelling in beautiful bays, enjoy a meal of local homecooked meze, take afternoon tea, and then sail back to the harbour, cocktail in hand, to watch the sunset. Kalkan has its own pebble beach with easy access to the sea for the beach bunnies.
Travel further afield to the stunning Kaputas Beach set in a natural gorge, or take a trip to Patara, where you will find twenty kilometres of unspoilt golden sands and a protected area for the hatching turtles. Kalkan is home to a number of beach clubs along the length/ of its coastline, have some fun in the sun at family-friendly resorts offering water sports and swimming pools, or relax and unwind at exclusive luxury destinations and be waited on hand and foot whilst enjoying alfresco spa treatments. For those with itchy feet the Lycian Way walking trail cuts through Kalkan. Follow in the footsteps of thousands of years of history, as you trek the trail taking you through major archaeological sites, local villages, dramatic coastlines, and the areas’ flora and fauna. Take a short journey to the town of Kinik, where you can step back in time to the Lycian city of Xanthos. Follow the D400 to Fethiye, and discover the historical sites of Patara, Letoon, Tlos, and Pinara, where you can see the ancient ruins, amphitheatres and temples with Lycian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine influences. The harbour town of Fethiye is also full of ancient sites worth seeing, as well as a foodie-heaven fish market, and home to some seriously good designer labels and fabulous jewellery shopping. Whilst the nearer town of Kas is just twenty-five kilometres away, and worth the journey alone along one of the world’s most stunning and dramatic coastlines. Walk through the harbour to the cobbled streets full of Ottoman architecture and overhanging balconies festooned with pastel coloured bougainvillaea, barter for unique handmade and antique goods in its many shops, and make memories dining in one of the traditional restaurants serving authentic Turkish cuisine with mesmerising sea views.
