You might think that the neighbourhood that surrounds Sagrada Familia is busy and touristy – but you couldn’t be farther from the truth. These streets are peaceful and residential, but it will take you a little longer to walk to Eixample and the Gothic Quarter. Earth Mer is quite a functional home, and what it lacks in design, it makes up for with a lush terrace and an even better view. Still, the luminous living room is sufficiently pleasant on rainy days to make this home a good option even in the winter.

* The layout of this home is super long – this is just a heads up if you prefer more compact homes
* The smaller bedroom doesn’t have any storage, unfortunately
* There’s no wheelchair access as the living room has some steps – and no ramp
* We couldn’t connect to the WIFi when we visited, so we could not measure the speed
* Although functioning, the microwave looks dated
* There are several steps leading to the elevator – those with limited mobility or heavy suitcases beware
* The only parking available is street parking – it’s payable and not always available
