The Kanda Pool Villa Resort is situated in a delightful, quiet cove between Cheweng and the upmarket village of Cheong Mon on the northern tip of the island, in Bophut. The resort is utterly charming, calm and peaceful and beautiful with manicured gardens, a range of private villas, all with private facilities and a fantastic resort restaurant and bar which is waterside. The concierge services are second to none. 

They offer a range of services from excursions, Thai cookery lessons, private yoga, pilates or personal training, children’s activities, babysitting, in-villa private chefs, boat trips to the Ang Thong National Marine Park or Koh Phanghan or private sunset cruises. Villa Giuay is comprised of several buildings within the gated plot. The master bedroom suite is enormous with a massive four-poster bed, a walk-through wardrobe, a gorgeous ensuite bathroom, a private terrace and incredible views out to sea. Two of the other bedrooms are located in another building, the other side of the pool and pavilion. They too boast exquisite sea views, ensuite bathrooms and a terrace with a day bed. The remaining bedroom, with its stunning ensuite, is slightly further back but is just as delightful. 

The whole plot is astonishing. There are little pools, incredible landscapes and the terraces are decked with superb, luxury loungers and dining furniture. The dining and outdoor lounge pavilions are all made with the traditional dark wood and look wonderful. To the rear of the plot are the magnificent open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. It is incredibly spacious, calm and very serene. The decor and furniture are stunning. There is even an office building to the side of this. Guests will certainly be very impressed with Villa Giuay!

Kanda Pool Villas Resort is situated on the north-east coast of Koh Samui, quite close to the airport, Big Buddha and the Wat Phra Yai Temple and Wat Plai Laem, another very colourful, busy and active Buddhist temple. To the north is the charming village of Cheong Mon. It boasts a series of stunning sandy bays with glorious views. 

Bophut is a large area with a massive white sandy beach. In the centre of it is the famous Fisherman’s Village which you should definitely visit. The myriad of narrow streets are lined with cute Chinese shops and houses and the Friday Bophut Walking Street night market is so atmospheric. Delicious street food can be bought as well as trinkets, clothes and most things coconut. 

The famous Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks are fascinating rock formations at the southern end of Lamai Beach which look like genitalia. They are often called the Grandpa and Grandma Rocks and have been a source of giggles ever since they were discovered. The central, mountainous jungle interior can be explored by jeep, motorbike or hiking.  

The Namuang Waterfalls are stunning. The Secret Buddha Garden, otherwise known as the Magic Garden, is hidden away high in the hills. It offers majestic views plus a fascinating collection of statues amid the lush jungle surrounding it. The gardens are a creation of Nim Thongsuk, an old Samui fruit farmer who started erecting statues and temples around his family’s land and continued until his death at 91. Each statue has a story to tell, and most Thais will know the meaning and mythology behind the evocative works of art. The garden sits atop the Tar Nim Waterfall peak. 

Some guests choose to visit Koh Phangan, Thailand’s fifth-largest island, which can be seen from Maenam Beach. It is totally unspoilt with a hilly, lush, tropical jungle interior and idyllic, long white-sanded beaches. It is very popular for diving with over 20 dive sites. The island is known for its raucous half-moon and full-moon parties but is relaxed and chilled the rest of the time. Koh Phangan boasts world-class food in stunning locations.
