Prepare to be wowed with a stay at the newly built sleek Villa Ceyda. Located in the village of Ovacik with impressive Taurus mountain scenery, the villa is situated between the town of Fethiye and the seaside paradise of Olu Deniz. Get back to nature in this four bedroom, four bathroom luxury villa, built over three storeys from local stone. The villa has its own private parking space, comes with complimentary Wi-Fi and air-conditioning throughout, and includes daily maintenance of the pool and grounds. Beautifully designed, the rooms are generous in size, floor to ceiling sliding doors flood the house with natural light, and offer stunning views of the Taurus mountains. Villa Ceyda is furnished with locally crafted wooden furniture, and decorated in natural earth tones, with splashes of primary colour highlights. The villa is surrounded by stone walls and green fencing to give a sense of seclusion and privacy, for that get away from it all and escape to the country holiday feeling.
The ground floor embraces contemporary open plan living, with a huge, light and airy space with floor to ceiling sliding doors giving access to the inviting pool terrace. The seating area has two large comfy cream sofas, coffee tables, and a rather funky shelving unit that hosts a flat screen satellite channel LVD television. The adjacent dining area has a white table and six chairs, two blue armchairs, and a pool view, perfect for some indoor entertaining. The well-equipped white and stainless steel kitchen has all the mod cons you will need for your stay, including an American style family-size fridge-freezer, and the obligatory morning coffee maker.
Take the marble staircase to the first floor where you will find two large double bedrooms, one trimmed with orange detail the other with yellow. Both bedrooms have large double beds, satellite LCD-TVs, fitted wardrobes, side and dressing tables, and ensuite modern bathrooms. The bathrooms have big jacuzzi baths with a view of the mountains, walk-in showers, single wash basins, and a WC. Best of all they both have furnished balconies with stunning mountain views, imagine breathing in that fresh air in the morning, as you sip your coffee and decide what you are going to do today. The third floor has two twin bedded rooms, one dressed with orange accessories, the other with yellow. The twin beds can be made into a double if preferred. The sloping ceiling bedrooms both have LCD-TVs, wardrobes, dressing and side tables, and ensuite shower rooms, as well as their own wrought iron balconies with mountain views.
We can guarantee you will be spending most of your time outdoors, the pool terrace of Villa Ceyda is another living space in itself. The inviting step-entry swimming pool is an impressive 10m x 4m, you can get in a few lengths before breakfast. Relax after a swim in the in-built pool jacuzzi. And for your little ones there’s a children’s pool too. The pool is surrounded by forest green cushioned sunbeds with shady parasols, a swish hammock in which to swing the day away, colourful bean bag cushions, and a mustard yellow soft seating area under a pergola where you can enjoy a cocktail or two at sunset. There is an octagonal wooden table to seat eight guests, and a built-in BBQ to cook up some of the local produce, then dine alfresco under the twinkling stars. You won’t want to leave!Villa Ceyda is nestled in the village of Ovacik overlooking the Taurus mountains, a forty-five minute drive from Dalaman international airport, and is located between the bustling town of Fethiye, and the tourist destinations of Hisaronu and Olu Deniz, both just fifteen minutes away. Hisaronu is a haven of supermarkets, cafes, bars, and restaurants and some super souvenir shops too. Take a short trip to Olu Deniz, where you will find one of the world’s best golden sandy beaches, the iconic and much photographed blue lagoon and spit, lively seashore restaurants and bars, and exclusive shops. From here you can hop aboard a water taxi to Butterfly Valley, or alternatively cross the sea to Gemile Island aka Aya Nikola, a natural protected area, that is now an open-air museum. For the thrill seekers, head up the hill and take the cable car to the top of Mount Babadag, at almost two thousand metres you can jump off and paraglide solo or in tandem and land on Olu Deniz beach. For shopping and the city Fethiye is your destination. Fethiye is a smart harbour town with yachts moored the length of the coastline, home to an ancient amphitheatre, historical museum and rock tombs, and an embarkation point for the must-do Twelve Island boat trip. There is a foodie-heaven fish market for a catch of the day fabulous feast, super souvenir shops selling all of your favourite designer brands, and a renowned large local market every Tuesday. A walk around the newly paved coastline will take you to the town and beach of Calis, home to more restaurants and bars, and a local market.
If it’s history you are after, you’ve come to the right place, hike the Lycian Way and take a trip through time. Trace the past with trips to Xanthos, the ancient capital of Lycia, and home to the oldest republic in the world, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, discover mosaics, amphitheatres, agoras, and an acropolis. Walk the ancient ruins of Patara, the birthplace of St Nicholas, better known as Santa Claus, and lose yourself on its twenty kilometre sandy beach, and also home to the famous Turkish hatching turtles. Explore the rock tombs of Tlos, carved into the façade of the ancient city ruins, where you will find a necropolis, Roman baths, and an Ottoman Basilica. Head for Letoon to see the mosaic of the goddess Leto, as you wander through the Temple of Apollo. Whilst the honeycomb cliffs of Pinara hosts nine hundred rock tombs and a theatre in verdant setting. In Fethiye you will find ancient sites dating back to two hundred years BC, the Lycian city of Telmessos, and the rock tombs of Amyntas, as well as sarcophagi, and a theatre immediately opposite the harbour, built to hold six thousand spectators, climb to the top for some fabulous sea views. Bring all of this together in the Fethiye Archeological Museum, full of local history, culture, and ephemera, most notably the Trilingual Stele, excavated at Letoon and inscribed with the languages of Lycia, Ancient Greek and Aramaic.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
