Villas with heated pools on islands of volcanic drama and warm winter sun, around four hours from the UK
As featured in
The Canary Islands lie off the coast of north-west Africa, closer to Morocco than to mainland Spain, and that position gives them the mildest climate in Europe: warm in winter, rarely too hot in summer, and sunny for most of the year. Each island has its own character, from the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote to the great dunes of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria and the mountains of Tenerife, crowned by Mount Teide.
Our Canary Islands collection runs to 450+ villas, many with heated pools, from contemporary villas above the sea to restored country houses inland.
Here is a guide to the islands and what makes each one different.

Villa Teide Las Palmas: Luxury 7-Bedroom Villa with Infinity Pool & Sea Views – Las Palmas7 bedroomsTenerife for mountains, variety and the south-coast resorts, Gran Canaria for dunes and mountain villages, Lanzarote for volcanic landscapes and design, and Fuerteventura for long, empty beaches.

Tenerife is the largest of the islands, with Mount Teide, at 3,715 metres the highest peak in Spain, at its centre. The Teide National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Europe to see the stars. The south coast, around Costa Adeje, has the sunniest weather and many of the island's best villas, while the green north has the historic town of La Orotava.

Gran Canaria is often called a continent in miniature, with the great dunes of Maspalomas in the south, pine-forested mountains and villages in the centre, and the lively city of Las Palmas in the north. Villas here range from beachside houses to fincas in the hills.

Lanzarote is the most striking of the islands, with black volcanic fields, white villages and the architecture of César Manrique, who shaped the island's look and kept it free of high-rise building. The Timanfaya National Park, its vineyards grown in volcanic ash at La Geria and its quiet beaches make it a favourite with those who want something different.

Fuerteventura has the longest beaches in the Canaries, including the dunes of Corralejo in the north, and steady winds that make it a centre for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Across the islands the climate is warm all year, so a Canaries villa works as well in February as in August. Our concierge can arrange a private chef, boat trips, walking guides and transfers.

Each Canary Island is very different, and we know which villas are close to the beaches, which have heated pools and which have the best views. With 450+ properties in the Canary Islands, we can usually find the house that suits you rather than the one that happens to be free. Search by size, pool, location and price, or tell us what you have in mind and we will put together a shortlist.
You book with us directly, with no booking fees. Questions about access roads, pool heating or how far it really is to the nearest beach go to people who can find out the answer.
Private chefs, boat trips, walking guides on Teide, stargazing tours, car hire and transfers from the airports. Our concierge team arranges all of it, leaving you free to decide which terrace to sit on.
Couples, families with small children, three generations together or a crowd of friends celebrating a birthday: we match the house to the group, down to the number of bathrooms and whether the pool is fenced.
Tenerife offers the most variety and the sunniest south coast. Lanzarote suits those who love landscape and design, Fuerteventura has the best beaches, and Gran Canaria combines beaches, mountains and a lively capital.
