Villas in Talamanca

A sheltered bay on Ibiza Town's doorstep

Talamanca is the bay just east of Ibiza Town, and it has a rare advantage: a long, gently shelving beach of soft sand, with the walls of Dalt Vila standing on their hill across the water. You can swim before breakfast, walk into town for lunch and be back on the terrace for sundowners without going anywhere near a car.

Our Talamanca collection runs to 38 villas and apartments, most of them set on the slopes above the bay with sea views and private or shared pools. Some have infinity pools facing the old town. Sizes range from apartments for a couple to a house with 14 bedrooms for a large family gathering.

Below you will find a guide to the bay, the town across the harbour and the best months to come.

Talamanca and nearby

Talamanca for the beach and an easy walk into Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia for a quieter family coast to the north, and Sant Josep for the island's west coast sunsets.

The Bay

Soft sand, shallow water and a boardwalk

Talamanca's beach curves for the best part of a kilometre, and the water stays shallow a long way out, which is why Ibiza families have always brought their children here. A wooden boardwalk runs behind the sand, with beach bars and seafood restaurants along it, and the kayak and paddleboard huts open early.

The villas mostly sit up on the slopes behind and around the bay, so you get the view without the bustle. At the northern end the beach grows quieter towards the little cove of Ses Figueres.

Ibiza Town

Across the harbour to Dalt Vila

Ibiza Town is around two kilometres away. You can walk there along the seafront in about twenty minutes or take the little water taxi from the Marina Botafoch across the harbour. The fortified old town, Dalt Vila, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its Renaissance walls, cathedral and steep cobbled lanes are best explored in the cool of the evening.

Below the walls, the port quarter fills up at night with bars and restaurants. Pacha is about a kilometre from the beach, which is close enough to go dancing and far enough away to sleep.

Jesús & the East

An old village church and the coast to the north

Just inland, the village of Jesús has a whitewashed church with a painted altarpiece from around 1500, one of the finest works of art on the island, and it rewards a short detour. From Talamanca the road north leads to Santa Eulalia and its long promenade, and on to the Wednesday hippy market at Es Canar.

The island is small, so the beaches of the south and the sunset coves of the west are all an easy drive away.

Food & the Seasons

Fish stew, flaó and a long summer

Ibiza's own cooking is worth seeking out: bullit de peix, a fish stew served with rice cooked in its broth, sofrit pagès, a hearty country dish of meats and potatoes, and flaó, a cheesecake scented with mint. Finish with a glass of hierbas, the island's herb liqueur.

The beach season runs from May to October, with July and August the warmest and busiest months. May, June and September are kinder for exploring Dalt Vila on foot, and the Medieval Fair fills the old town each May. Our concierge can book restaurant tables, boat days and transfers.

Why book your Talamanca villa with Excellence Luxury Villas

The right house, not the nearest one

Talamanca's villas and apartments are spread over the slopes around the bay, and we know which can be walked to from the beach, which look straight across to Dalt Vila and which are far enough from the road to stay quiet at night. With 38 properties in Talamanca, we can usually find the house that suits you rather than the one that happens to be free. Search by size, pool, location and price, or tell us what you have in mind and we will put together a shortlist.

Book direct

You book with us directly, with no booking fees. Questions about access, parking, pool heating or how far it really is to the nearest beach go to people who can find out the answer.

A concierge who knows the territory

Restaurant and beach club reservations, yacht and boat charters, private chefs, nannies, car hire and transfers from Ibiza airport. Our concierge team arranges all of it, leaving you free to decide which terrace to sit on.

A house for every kind of party

Couples, families with small children, three generations together or a crowd of friends celebrating a birthday: we match the house to the group, down to the number of bathrooms and whether the pool is fenced.
