Chalets in the cradle of alpine skiing, with steep slopes, deep snow and the most famous après in Austria
As featured in
St Anton am Arlberg is where modern ski teaching began: in 1921 Hannes Schneider opened his ski school here and developed the technique that spread around the world. A century later, the village remains a place for skiers first, with steep, varied slopes, reliable snow and an après scene that is famous well beyond Austria.
Our St Anton collection includes 24 chalets and apartments in St Anton and the neighbouring Arlberg villages, from traditional Tyrolean chalets with wood-panelled stuben to contemporary chalets with saunas and ski rooms.
Here is a guide to St Anton, the Arlberg skiing and how to get there.

St Anton is a traditional Tyrolean village with a pedestrian centre, painted houses and a church, and unusually for a top ski resort it has its own station on the main Arlberg railway line. That makes arriving by train from Zurich or Innsbruck straightforward and rather civilised.
Chalets close to the centre put the lifts and restaurants within walking distance, while those in the surrounding hamlets offer more space and quiet.

St Anton is part of Ski Arlberg, Austria's largest connected ski area, linking St Anton, St Christoph and Stuben with Lech, Zürs and Warth-Schröcken. The skiing is known for its steepness and variety, from the Valluga high above the village to long runs back to St Anton, and the off-piste is legendary for those with a guide.
Lech and Zürs, across the Flexen pass, offer a smarter, quieter Arlberg, with excellent restaurants and very good snow.

St Anton's après starts on the mountain in the late afternoon, in the famous bars on the run back to the village, and carries on in the village well into the evening. For a quieter night, there are traditional stuben serving Tyrolean food and chalet dinners by your own chef.
The season usually runs from early December to late April. Our concierge can arrange transfers, ski hire, instructors and guides, lift passes and restaurant tables.
