RST Roadster 3 Ladies Leather Jacket / RST X Kevlar Ladies Jeans
We’ve been using the Roadster 3 CE Ladies Leather Jacket from RST, paired with RST X Kevlar tapered fit CE ladies textile jeans, for a while now,
The Roaster 3 jacket is a high-quality leather jacket designed specifically for women. Made from premium aniline waxed leather with a satin lining and quilted stitch detail across the shoulders, forearms and at the bottom at the back, It’s a stylish, practical and comfortable jacket that is soft, supple, and durable, making it a great choice if you’re looking for a contemporary, safe, ladies jacket in our opinion.
The Roadster 3 has a CE certification rating: AA, and comes as standard with level 1 elbow and shoulder protection and a pocket for a back protector. Unfortunately, like many jackets, the back protector isn’t standard so you’ll have to add your own, we’d suggest the D3O level 2 back protector. The Roadster 3 doesn’t have airbag technology but you could always invest in an airbag vest or similar.
RST have fitted vertical zips at the waist to allow a bit more room for larger hips or if you’re in a crouch, and zips at the cuff to give you more room, say to accommodate longer gloves. These allow a bit more wiggle room, make the jacket more comfortable but keep the tailored shape of the jacket.
You have 2 internal pockets and 4 outer zip pockets. The 2 outer breast pockets aren’t very practical to use as they’re a bit small and the placement means they’re not easy to get your hand in, but they look cool. The rest are good and add a dose of practicality.
Ours is a size 14 in black and we found the size to be pretty much spot on. This is a very nice, soft and comfortable jacket. It is practical and offers good levels of protection, but isn’t too heavy or restrictive and is comfortable to wear. We like the black on black style, it’s cool, traditional and subtle.
At the end of the day, it’s a leather motorcycle jacket so is going to be a little heavy, but it’s a fair trade-off for the protection it offers. This is Kate’s go-to jacket now. We ride all sorts of bikes in all sorts of weather and unless it’s chucking it down, this is the jacket she wears most days.
Overall, this is a very well-made, practical and comfortable jacket that looks good and offers great protection. The Roadster 3 is available in brown or black, ours is black, and from UK sizes 8 up to 20.

The RST X Kevlar Tapered Fit CE Ladies Textile Jeans are made from a combination of stretch denim with DuPont™ Kevlar® Fibre lining in key impact areas, such as the side of the hip, seat area and knee, which provides excellent abrasion resistance. The jeans also feature CE Level 1 knee armour and a pocket for hip armour, so you can be sure to be protected should the worst happen.
RST’s X Kevlar ladies’ jeans are a classic Western style with a tapered fit that is flattering on most body types, a five-pocket design with a front fly opening and button closure system and contrast stitch detailing.
These jeans use RST’s Infinite Adjustment Armour System for the knee armour. This means the knee armour sits in a pocket and can be adjusted using the hook and loop system on both the armour bag and the armour pocket, giving endless possibilities for positioning the armour to suit. This mean maximum comfort and ensures the armour is where it’s supposed to be.
Kate is short which meant out of the box the armour was in the wrong place, but was easily adjusted. She found these jeans, like any lined denim jeans, to be pretty heavy, but it’s worth it for the extra protection they offer. We often see girls riding in leggings or similar. Motorcycle gear is a choice not a requirement but we always chose to wear decent protective gear from head to toe.
Overall we think they are a great-looking and practical pair of ladies’ motorcycle jeans. The tapered jeans are available in midblue or light blue denim and from UK sizes 8 up to 20.
Interestingly RST offers the X Kevlar range in a few styles; tapered leg, straight leg and jeggins; Jeggins Are available in indigo blue denim and black twill and straight leg are available in black, darkblue and midblue denim. All are available in UK sizes 8 up to 20 and the sizes are pretty much spot on in our experience, so don’t worry about having to order a size up or down.
