Villa Review – Paraiso Isla Casa
For most people words like luxury and sophistication instil feelings of utter relaxation, being fully pampered and not having a care in the world. For others, they mean having your own private island to enjoy. As is the case with Spain’s Paraiso Isla Casa.
Undoubtedly one of the most picturesque islands the country has to offer, and one of the very few not open to the public, it should go without saying that a stay here doesn’t come cheap- clocking in at over £70,000 per week. For that price you’d expect to want for nothing, of course, yet even that idea is an understatement.
Situated just off the coast of Ibiza- an island that has in itself gone through something of a transition in recent years (from hedonist’s paradise to a more refined destination filled with world class restaurants and picturesque retreats)- the first thing that strikes you about Paraiso Isla Casa is just how stunning the setting actually is. Bathed in near-year round sunshine, and surrounded by the impossibly blue Mediterranean, its dry landscape is as arid as it is inviting, with coves to explore, beaches to while hour after hour away on, and small peaks offering the perfect vista. All of which is before we come to the villa itself.
From the interior of modernist grey and white hues, spacious living areas and bedrooms to die for, to the external features- which range from postcard perfect sun terraces to a bird and wildlife sanctuary just for you- everything is concerned with delivering as unique an experience as possible. This really is the pinnacle of luxury and the most serene spot to vacation in.
Guests can choose to bring their own staff (with quarters available on-site), adding to the feeling of creating your own home from home, meanwhile the residence has its own private yacht that can be chartered, opening up neighbouring islands that would otherwise have been difficult to reach. We went the whole hog and took the yacht out, resulting in a glorious day spent leisurely meandering about on the water, dropping anchor for an offshore lunch, and watching the sunset before heading back to base camp. It is an understatement to say that it will be difficult to top this.
Offering a bonafide life of luxury, with a total of five bedrooms, Paraiso Isla Casa is the perfect destination for extended family get-togethers, which is why we chose this rare gem on the Mediterranean. Older members of the family were happy to simply sit back and take in the wonderful nature all around, whilst the children spent every waking hour splashing around in the generously-proportioned pool, and after each day’s activities drew to a close, the BBQ area became a meeting point where everyone could make the most of the warm nights, share stories about their days activities, and indulge in some incredible, locally-themed dishes cooked to perfection by the on-site kitchen staff. Indubitably the finest way to round off each perfect day.
Although this was a special treat to celebrate a family event and definitely in the upper price range, plans are already being hatched for our return visit, which can’t come soon enough.
