An Istrian villa imbued with classic style and elegance; Villa Ulrika provides the perfect introduction to the area for up to eight guests. This 4-bedroom villa is located in the village of Vabriga, close to Tar and Lanterna, and features a delightful terrace and private pool.
The garden and pool area affords you plenty of privacy, and the terrace is equipped with lots to enjoy, including a barbecue and dining area, seating and sun loungers. You can walk straight through to the interior, where the main living area features a comfortable seating area complete with satellite TV.
Also on this level are a large dining table and chairs and the villa’s kitchen, equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven, coffee machine and everything else you could need to entertain guests of your own. The villa also offers air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Ascend the staircase, and you’ll come to two comfortable double bedrooms, each with a beautifully appointed bathroom. One of these bedrooms has its private balcony, with direct access down to the pool area. It’s here that you will find the other two bedrooms, both doubles with a bathroom and a private entrance.
Exquisitely furnished, Villa Ulrika is only 1km from the beach and the local amenities of Vabriga. There is plenty to see and do within a short drive, notably visiting the excellent restaurants of pretty Novigrad, around 15 minutes away, or the many attractions of the resort of Poreč 10 minutes to the south.
As well as stunning scenery and sweeping views of the Adriatic, Istria offers historic sights and attractions both natural and humanmade. If the caves of Baredine aren’t your thing, Poreč has a history in the form of the Euphrasian Basilica and a charming Old Town, while winery tours and water parks around the region will keep both adults and children entertained.The village of Vabriga forms part of Tar-Vabriga county on the western side of Croatia’s Istrian peninsula. This naturally beautiful area is perfect as a travel destination with its Adriatic coastline and reliably warm temperatures.
It is these which make it ideal for olive oil production, with the olive oil of Tar-Vabriga considered by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation to be the best in Europe.
This historically rich region is full of old churches and archaeological sites. The church of St Martin in Tar is nowadays known as the location of classical music concerts during the summer. An annual treat since 1998, these free concerts attract high-calibre musicians from Croatia and elsewhere, and are justifiably popular with visitors.
Numerous restaurants in Vabriga, Tar and the coastal area of Lanterna introduce the fine Istrian cuisine – lookout for a variety of fish and seafood dishes, truffles and asparagus on the menus. Much like the olive oil, the area’s wine is top-notch too, with wine-making an essential part of Istria’s culture – in short, don’t miss out on a glass or two.
Around 12km south lies the town of Poreč, which attracts many visitors to its Roman Old Town. You’ll find the remains of temples and fortification walls, and – most significantly – the Episcopal complex of Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Poreč is also known as a great cycling destination, and its central location makes it a good base for further exploration of the region. Rovinj lies around 30km to the south, and it’s not much more than an hour from Italy, with a beautiful slice of Slovenia even closer.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
