Across the six attractive bedrooms, the master double is especially spacious with a large terrace whilst the other five twin or doubles each have their own en suite bath or shower room. There’s also an extra lounge upstairs with an ocean-facing terrace. Indeed, all the rooms on the top floor have doors leading to a terrace, most with great views of the golf course or ocean.
Book your round of golf at the 18-hole course or you may prefer to head straight for the surf schools just a few hundred metres away on the long sandy beach so close. There’s a summer beachside restaurant down the road too – an amazing place to watch the sun set over the Atlantic ocean.
Bustling Biarritz and all its glamour is less than 5km away whilst the historic town of Bayonne, on the banks of the Adour and Nive rivers, is just a 15-minute drive by car.
Heading north, nature lovers will adore the Marais d’Orx nature reserve or drive south towards the Spanish border – keen walkers can follow the stunning coastal trail between Bidart and Hendaye. Some of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ are also close by as is the mighty Rhune mountain – visit it by the historic wooden railway for a charming experience!
With both glorious rural scenery close by and coastal landscapes a few steps away, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques makes a superb holiday destination for everyone.  Less than 5km north of Biarritz, L’Albatros is on the edge of a prestigious 18-hole golf course and just a 5-minute stroll to a vast beach with surfing schools and a summer restaurant-café.
You are just a 5-minute drive from a wider choice of restaurants in the area and other amenities such as a choice of supermarkets in the neighbourhood and a wonderful indoor market hall with a great range of fruit, vegetables, fish, meat and other regional delicacies.
This stretch of coastline features vast sandy shores, surfing schools, summer beachside cafes and bars dotted around as well as a 4.5km long promenade ideal for jogging and walking. At the top end you will find a skate park, thalassotherapy centre and nature park. Slightly inland, find trails through the forests for long walks.
The glitz of Biarritz is never far away – you could walk down the beach for around 3km until you reached the famous lighthouse at the town’s northern end or drive just under 5km to downtown Biarritz with its famous beach, La Grande Plage, the sea-food restaurants around Le Vieux Port and the atmospheric food market, Les Halles. In and around the town there are great shops, museums and glorious beaches including Plage de la Côte des Basques, a famous spot that attracts surfers from across the world.
Bidart is a great place to soak up the surfing vibe in typical Basque surroundings whilst Guéthary also has a relaxed atmosphere – both under half an hour by car. Further south is Saint-Jean-de-Luz (20km), a charming seaside resort and neighbouring Ciboure with its pretty houses and Sunday morning market. A stunning coastal trail follows this part of the coastline between Bidart and Hendaye by the Spanish border.
Some of France’s prettiest villages can also be found across this part of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques including Sare, Ainhoa and, even further inland, La Bastide-Clairence (35km) with its gorgeous white houses and red shutters.
Another wonderful day out is picturesque Bayonne (7km) on the banks of the Adour and Nive rivers. With colourful houses, narrow lanes and so much character and charm, it’s a lovely place to explore with its pretty shops, impressive cathedral and fascinating Musée Basque.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
