Hillside villas above the Costa del Sol, city apartments in Seville and Granada, and fincas among the white villages
As featured in
Andalusia is the Spain of the postcards, and a good deal more than that. Here you will find the Alhambra above Granada, the Mezquita of Córdoba and the cathedral and Alcázar of Seville. The white villages cling to the sierras, sherry bodegas fill the old town of Jerez, and the Mediterranean and Atlantic meet off Tarifa. The Costa del Sol supplies the sunshine. The interior supplies everything else.
Our Andalusia collection runs to 970+ properties. In Marbella, Benahavís and Estepona there are contemporary villas with infinity pools and sea views. Málaga, Seville and Granada have apartments and penthouses in the historic centres, and inland there are fincas and country houses in the hills behind Nerja and Ronda.
Below is a guide to the coast, the cities and the countryside, and to the best months to come.

Most of our villas are on the stretch of coast west of Málaga, and with good reason. Marbella has a whitewashed old town around the Plaza de los Naranjos and a seafront promenade. Puerto Banús and the golf courses of Nueva Andalucía sit just behind it.
Benahavís, a little inland, is home to La Zagaleta, one of the most private estates in Europe, and to a village with a surprising number of good restaurants. Estepona, further west, is quieter, with a flower-filled old quarter. San Roque is home to Valderrama, which hosted the Ryder Cup in 1997.

Málaga, where Picasso was born, has become one of the most rewarding cities in Spain. It has the Museo Picasso, the Centre Pompidou on the port, and a cathedral the locals call La Manquita, the one-armed lady, because its second tower was never finished.
Seville is grander. It has the cathedral and the Giralda, the tiled courtyards of the Real Alcázar, and Triana across the river, where flamenco is still sung in the bars. Granada has the Alhambra and the Albayzín, the old Moorish quarter, whose terraces look across to the palace with the Sierra Nevada behind.

Ronda stands over a deep gorge, crossed by the eighteenth-century Puente Nuevo, and it makes a fine base for the Serranía de Ronda and hilltop villages such as Gaucín. To the east of Málaga lies the Axarquía, a country of avocado groves and terraced vineyards known for its sweet Moscatel wine and raisins. Frigiliana is a tangle of white lanes above Nerja, and the caves at Nerja are worth the descent.
Closer to Málaga, the Caminito del Rey is a cliff walkway above the gorge at El Chorro. The dolmens at Antequera are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The table follows the province. Málaga's beach bars grill espetos, sardines on a cane skewer, over olive wood. Córdoba gives you salmorejo, Cádiz gives you fried fish, and Jerez and Sanlúcar give you the sherry to drink with it all.
Spring is the finest season, with Semana Santa processions and then the Feria de Abril in Seville. Inland summers are fierce, with Seville often passing 40°C, so July and August are best spent by the sea. September and October bring warm water and quieter roads. Our concierge can arrange Alhambra tickets, tee times, flamenco evenings, sherry tastings and transfers.

Search by size, pool, location and price, or tell us what you have in mind and we will put together a shortlist.

Alhambra and Alcázar tickets with private guides, tee times on the Costa del Sol, flamenco evenings in Seville, sherry tastings in Jerez, a private chef, car hire and transfers from Málaga. Our concierge team arranges all of it, leaving you free to decide which terrace to sit on.
Couples, families with small children, three generations together or a crowd of friends celebrating a birthday: we match the house to the group, down to the number of bathrooms and whether the pool is fenced.
For a villa with a pool, golf and the beach, the Costa del Sol around Marbella, Benahavís and Estepona is the most popular choice. For culture, choose an apartment in Seville, Granada or Málaga. For peace and walking, look at the white villages around Ronda, Gaucín and the Axarquía.
April to June and September to October are best for touring the cities and the countryside, when it is warm but not too hot. July and August suit the coast, while inland cities such as Seville and Córdoba can be extremely hot.
