Villa Romane | 7-Bedroom Villa with Private Pool in Beaucaire Comps

Luxury Villas Rentals
| 7 Bedrooms|

Holiday Home Rental Description

Fourteen guests arrive at dusk, the Rhone valley spreading gold across the horizon. Seven bedrooms await them. Six bathrooms stand ready. This is Villa Romane in Beaucaire—a Provençal stone villa that has just won the 2024 LUXlife Award for Most Charming Luxury Villa in Occitaine. The property sits 1.5km uphill from medieval Beaucaire’s colourful marina, high enough to feel remote, close enough to reach restaurants and markets on foot through country lanes. Villa Romane sleeps 16 guests across 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, plus a separate one-bedroom cottage tucked into the far garden corner for those seeking total privacy.

Inside Villa Romane

The main villa opens at ground level into a generous entrance hall that flows toward the dining room—a space designed for twelve people seated together, with a bar positioned for drinks before dinner. To the left, a living area commands attention: substantial sofas face a decorative fireplace, the kind where guests genuinely gather on cool April evenings. The kitchen runs efficiently along the ground floor, fitted with professional basics: commercial-grade hob, full-size oven, separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher for the evening’s plates, microwave for hasty breakfasts, kettle always ready. This is the kind of kitchen that makes even reluctant cooks volunteer for dinner duty.

Ground floor bedrooms include one double with en-suite shower and WC, plus a double/twin bedroom served by a separate shower room. A laundry and utility space handles the practical realities of large groups. Two additional WCs ensure morning queues never form.

Climb to the first floor and you discover four substantial double bedrooms—three of which convert to twin configuration if your group prefers. Two bathrooms with showers and WCs service these rooms, plus a third bathroom offering shower and separate WC. The light here is particular to Provence: clear, insistent, flooding the stone walls by mid-morning.

The second floor delivers an open roof terrace where panoramic views of the valley command silence. Guests stand here at sunset and forget to talk.

La Petite Villa Romane, included in the 13-16 person rate, operates as a completely separate one-bedroom cottage. An open-plan living area contains a double sofa-bed (sleeps two). The sleeping room converts to twin beds. A compact kitchen corner includes sink, two-ring electric hob, full fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and cafetiere. The bathroom provides shower and WC. Both the living area and bedroom open directly onto a private shaded terrace and a secluded garden—genuinely isolated from the main villa’s activity, ideal for grandparents seeking peace or couples wanting romance without compromise.

Outdoor Spaces and Living

The circular swimming pool dominates 1,800 square metres of walled gardens. Eight metres in diameter, 50 square metres of surface area, depths ranging from 1.1 to 1.85 metres—this is the property’s signature feature, designed in the style of a Roman colonnaded arena. Night-time illumination transforms it into theatre. The pool operates May through end-October. Gated steps provide safe entry; electronically controlled gates secure the entire property.

Surrounding the pool: sun loungers, a fully-fitted summer kitchen with barbecue area, shaded summer lounge for afternoon retreat when Provence’s heat peaks at 32°C. An outdoor dining terrace seats twenty. A boules pitch sits ready for friendly competition. Pool inflatables and toys mean children navigate water safely. A small pond with a footbridge adds unexpected charm—the kind of detail that photographs capture but memory holds longer.

Six parking spaces occupy the walled grounds. An outdoor drying line handles linens. The terrace at al-fresco dining level catches the evening light perfectly; sunset here carries the particular quality of the Rhone valley where the sun descends behind distant hills.

Location: Beaucaire and the Surrounding Area

Villa Romane occupies a hilltop position 1.5km from Beaucaire itself—a medieval town whose tree-lined marina hosts colourful boats and weekend market stalls. Walking distance through quiet country lanes brings you to restaurants serving regional Provençal cuisine, cafés where locals take morning coffee, supermarkets handling grocery needs, boulangeries where bread emerges warm at 7am. Beaucaire hosts weekly historical re-enactments during summer months; the town’s Saturday markets feature antiques, brocantes, and occasional carnival processions.

The Rhone river flows just 1km downhill—ideal for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Mountain biking trails crisscross the surrounding countryside. Several riding centres within 15 minutes’ drive make horse riding accessible; this region remains famous for equestrian culture. Wine tastings happen year-round at local estates; the Côtes du Rhône appellation surrounds you.

Avignon lies 26km north—home to the Papal Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of six such sites within 30 minutes’ drive. Arles (30km south) preserves Roman amphitheatres and Van Gogh’s former studios. Nîmes (28km east) displays the Maison Carrée Roman temple and the Pont du Gard aqueduct (24km away)—another UNESCO site and France’s most-visited ancient monument. St Rémy de Provence (32km east) offers medieval charm and boutique shopping. Uzes (26km northeast) attracts visitors for its Renaissance architecture and pottery traditions. The Camargue regional park (40km southwest) protects wild horses, flamingos, and Mediterranean wetlands.

Montpellier airport sits 80km away, requiring approximately 90 minutes’ drive. Marseille Provence airport (120km, 2 hours) offers international flights. Who This Villa Suits Best

Multi-generational family groups find Villa Romane ideal: teenagers and adults inhabit the main villa’s multiple bedrooms while grandparents claim La Petite Villa’s privacy. The Roman-style pool works for confident swimmers and families with younger children using floats and inflatables. Children’s books, DVDs, and a dedicated play area occupy younger guests during afternoon heat. The boules pitch suits older children and adults competing together.

Groups of friends renting together appreciate the separate accommodation options—intimate couples or quieter guests retire to La Petite Villa whilst others socialise around the pool. Corporate retreats and team-building groups benefit from the large dining terrace, summer kitchen, and outdoor entertainment infrastructure.

Romantic couples can rent La Petite Villa exclusively for honeymoon-style seclusion with access to sophisticated dining and activities nearby. Guests with mobility concerns find ground-floor bedroom and bathroom arrangements practical and accessible.
