As desert escapes go, this five-acre plot ticks all the boxes. This home is actually made up of two villas, each with its own kitchen and living area, meaning it’s a great choice for two families or a group of friends who want plenty of space to relax.
Inside, the interiors melt together modern conveniences with desert chic – stainless steel meets natural wood, and the carefully curated collection of prints on the walls adds an extra dose of style. Slide open one of the patio doors and step right out onto the patio, where you can cook up a feast on the barbeque, before settling down to dine alfresco at the outdoor table. There are plenty of loungers where you can kick back and enjoy the view, but our favourite spot has to be the hot tube, ideal for long soaks as you gaze out across the rugged landscape.
The gates of Joshua Tree National Park are only a mile away from here, where you can take an invigorating hike on one of the many trails through the desert. However, if you prefer a more leisurely activity, then the town of Joshua Tree is just an eight-minute drive away, where you’ll find hearty restaurants, boutiques, and even an art gallery. And, when you arrive back home, you can light up the fire pit and gaze up at the stars to round off the day.
