The owner of this home is an architect and it definitely shows. We can’t get enough of the sliding floor to ceiling doors, opening onto the private garden. Filled with art prints, stacks of books and luxurious soft furnishings, Ciao has a sophisticated feel. The kid’s bedroom and playroom are on a separate floor, making the top floor a peaceful oasis for the adults. Located in a residential area it’s definitely not central, although Clapham Common is just a short walk away.

* This home is set over four floors – be prepared for lots of climbing
* Make sure to watch your head on the sloped ceiling in the master bedroom, it gets a bit low near the windows
* The bunkbed room is very much geared towards children
* The bathroom on the first floor doesn’t have a separate shower, only a bath with a handheld shower-head
* The alarm system here is usually connected to CCTV. This will be off during your stay, but the cameras will still be visible
