Pink Lake of Torrevieja
This lake is genuinely bright pink and needs to be seen to be believed. Used for salt extraction, you can walk or cycle around it. Pink Flamingoes also congregate there. Perfect for out of this world Instagram pictures.

Altea Old Town
Another quaint hilltop village with narrow streets and beautiful architecture. The views are to die for plus there are numerous excellent restaurants and shops.
Sanctuary of Santa Maria Magdalena in Novelda
This unusual and beautiful church was built by Jose Sala in the Gaudi style, a tribute to the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The marble organ and two slender 100 foot towers are terrific and unique.
El Albir Lighthouse
Another one for the Instagram feed, this lighthouse overlooks one of the most popular beaches in Spain with great views of Altea and the surrounding mountains. Perfect for snorkelling or paddle boarding.
Castillo de Denia
Denia Castle was built in the 11th & 12th centuries on a sloping hill. Used by the Moors to keep control of the area and defend against pirate attacks.
Granadella Beach
Surrounded by cliffs with just the crystal clear water before you, this is an excellent spot for snorkelling and exploring. Just south of Javea, so you can pop in for a bit of shopping or wander along the promenade.
Fonts de L’Algar Waterfall
A lovely place for a picnic, you can also follow the trail of the waterfall up the mountain. Swim under the waterfall in the pools below. The water is clear and utterly clean, coming straight from the mountain above.
Cala Moraig
This pebble beach is set next to some amazing caves that you can explore on foot or even swim in and out. There is a current, so for strong swimmers only. It lies at the bottom of a very steep and scenic mountain that winds down from Lacumbre del Sol, near Moraira.
