The pretty green shutters, sloping tiled roofs and decorative balustrades add a hint of local flavour to this luxurious home.

Guests can arrive, and unwind in the knowledge that every detail has been taken care of. The pool is framed by a lounging area, equipped with sun loungers and day beds, while the charming balcony has lovely outdoor furniture, making this spot ideal for an evening glass of wine or a morning coffee!

Safely enclosed within its private grounds, there is a small lawn area, framed by tall, swaying palm trees. The veranda offers outdoor dining under the shade, or the option to enjoy a barbecue! An awning can be used for an additional layer of shade during the heat of the day.

The kitchen is large, unfussy and meticulously equipped with coffee maker, top range appliances and full set up for family or group self-catering. The kitchen leads into the outdoor dining space, providing a natural fusion between indoor and outdoor living.

The indoor dining room is tastefully executed, with a dining table for eight, stylishly minimal yet with a decorative appeal for a character space, ideal for dinner parties or family meals. There is a significant relaxation space with cosy, corner sofa and television-lounge space -ideal for “downtime” at the end of a busy day.

There are two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms; each of these are immaculately finished, with accents of colour and touches of personality. Tranquil, calm and understated, within the spirit of this home, the bedrooms offer guests a truly restorative stay.

Villa Mariona is located within a quiet, residential part of Porto Colom. All bars, restaurants, shops and amenities are just over a kilometre away; the airport is sexy five kilometres away.

Porto Colom is a charming, natural harbour in the south-east of Majorca, considered one of the most attractive spots in the district of Felanitx.

As a traditional finishing village, Porto Colom retains much of its original charm. The town nestles around one of the largest, most sheltered bays on the island, where the boathouses, lighthouse and boats add to the graphic nature of the place.

The main beach in Porto Colom is the blue flag Cala Marcela which boasts sandy, shallow waters; there is an array of other beaches accessible locally.

Porto Colom was named after Christopher Columbus who was allegedly born there, and until tourism boomed, the town was a simple, working fishing pony.

There is a prehistoric burial ground, dating back to around 2000 BC.

Porto Colom doesn’t have many shops, but the long quayside offers some interesting boutiques and crafts. For more severe shopping there is either Felanitx or Santanyi, both offering lively markets.

Water sports and beach life are very much central to Majorca.  

Cycling is a significant part of the tourism trade in this part of Majorca - it has become a central hub for those wanting to make the most of the diverse array of northern routes and rugged, beautiful scenery. With safe, yet challenging, mountain roads and year round temperate weather, cycling enthusiasts will find themselves among a like-minded biking community.

Hiking is likewise very much a draw for visitors to the region; a beautiful hike being the route to the former monastery Lluc, situated in the Tramuntana mountains - along yet wonderfully rewarding path offering unspoilt views of luscious nature.

Golfers will be very much at home with an array of golf courses to select from.

Whether it be pilates, or paddle boarding, kite surfing or chartering a private boat to explore hidden corners of the coastline, the opportunities for sports and activities at all levels are endless.

The promenade next to Port Colom is usually a bustle of rollerbladers, walkers, cyclists and families just out for a stroll, whilst at the end of the beach, next to Pine Walk, visitors will come across the stone sculpture workshops - courses include open-air classes in sculpture, complete with daily yoga sessions and one to one coaching.

Not so much known for its nightlife, this corner of Mallorca is very much a family-friendly destination, however many of the restaurants offer live music and party nights. The range of eateries is diverse, while all ages will be welcome in restaurants.
